What are you casting? I cant throw just a plastic with a jighead very far b/c mine are set for more weight. Corks and topwaters

I like them for windy conditions. I prefer a baitcaster because I'm much more accurate with them.

Use spinning reels 90% of the time.
For me, they cast further, better in the wind, and easier to handle. I actually find my accuracy is much better when fishing with a spinning reel but that's probably a consequence of knowing the reel.
I also don't have to worry about guest on the boat when I hand them a spinning rod. It's a lot easier to pick up for your average joe...less stress for me.

I flip mine so the are right hand retrieve.
Ditto. I am left-handed, so it is great to be able to cast with my left and not have to change hands to start reeling.
I still prefer my baitcasters to spinning gear though.

I've never understood why lefties want to reel with the left hand. I'm pretty close to ambidextrous, but it just feels awkward to reel with the left on anything. I'd rather control the rod with my left and reel with the right.

It's more to do with whether or not the reel is above the rod.

I just hate using them. I really don't see how people can fish with them as often as they do. I have constant problems when I use them for some reason.
It's strange, I can throw a bait caster all day long with no problems. Pick up a a spinning reel and all hell breaks out.

My kids can twist the shite out of some line with them.

I grew up on spin reels, and love them
But i went and bought a curado a few years ago, and i really enjoy it as well
IMO
spinning reels are better for lighter baits, when using corks, and in heavy winds
Baitcasters are great for throwing jigs and lures
Also, get what feels comfortable to you, I grew up reeling in left handed, so when I bought my curado, I got a left handed reel. So if you are use to reeling in right handed, switch your spin cast over.
If it catches fish, then it works perfectly

I have fished for bass and inshore with it. Typically a big spinner/buzzbait(minimum 3/8oz). Have thrown crankbaits, but don't really care for them. Don't mess with worms using it because I can only get out about 20ft
Inshore, it is your typical skrimps or dudley's

I use them for lighter baits. Throwing a weightless fluke or small baits. I also use them for my shakey head setups and wacky worm fishing. I prefer the shimano Stratic for spinning reels.
