Anyone know what this is?

Should I burn my house down?

Wolf Spider. They're good to have around as mischievous as they look. Fun fact I learned today. They never quit growing till the day they die.

I found 2 in my house. And this:

quote:

They never quit growing till the day they die.

Is pure nightmare fuel

If they eat mosquitoes and roaches and ants I’ll keep them alive

Go shine a flashlight in your yard at night.

All the little “lights” are spiders. I think they’re wolf spiders as well, but won’t promise that.

I'd love/hate to know how many spiders there are on any given acre in louisiana.

I can't argue that. I found a deceased one about a week ago in my house. It's legs were curled up underneath as most do when they die "un-squashed". I am not exaggerating when I say it was still bigger in diameter than a silver dollar.

I can only imagine if my wife had spotted it crawling around alive.

That’s a common wolf spider. Word of advice, if you see one with a bunch of small bumps on its back DO NOT STEP ON IT!!! Those small bumps are baby spiders. If you step on it whey will run everywhere.

They are even better at killing other spiders, including black widows and brown recluses.

Another fun fact, the only thing all those little baby spiders on their mom's back have to eat is...other little baby spiders
