If I was putting down in Morgan City I would seriously consider locking into the Bayou Teche at Patterson. If you get in there early ride to where there is grass around the cypress trees and throw buzz baits. As it gets later throw crankbaits around any tied up boats or ships. Sometimes throw 4 or 5 times to the same spot then mix in some senko's around the cypress trees and grass. The bigger bites come early but you will get a limit.

We have a camp on Belle River

My dad has been fishing bass in the area since 1960 and me since 1990

We have switched to catfish and bream solely the last two years….

Tells you how bad it’s been

Those fish were relocated to Bayou Teche. Amelia landing won't get repopulated until next week. Every sack over 6 lbs came out of a pond.

f FFS has shown us nothing it’s shown us there are fish over our shoulder and under the boat. I’d hav the youngster slow roll that swim bait wherever he wants to throw out away from what u fishing. Its works this time of year. Good Luck

The only thing I’ve been successful at using live scope for is catching catfish. I haven’t spent much time with it though.

Bill, my father in law and his buddy went all over today not a single bass. I don’t think they are going to fish at all. I’m just going to find some good water, put my head down and fish Saturday. Guess we will see.

Update for you guys. Legal fishing time was 6 AM. I caught one fish @ 6:05 AM that weighed 2.90. Only bite I had all day other than a choupic. The boy called it quits around 11. I could have ran around and maybe found something but I really did not have many spots I caught fish so I stayed close and tried to grind it out but did not catch another fish. Oh well always next time.

Fished a tourney Saturday as well - 13.5 lbs won - From the Des Allemands area. My partner and I weighed in 5 fish for almost 9 lbs. 18 participants. I'd say 1/2 the field weighed in 5 fish. Most guys fished the Des Allemands/Salvadore area. We actually ran to Bayou Black. Caught a lot of fish, just couldn't get on any big ones.

Buzz bait five minutes after legal fishing time.

Went back to the same area Sunday mid morning and caught 10 fish in under three hours. Total weight on the five biggest was almost 14 pounds according to my bubba scale. The main difference was the water was falling Sunday Morning.
