You could most likely tell cotton mouth simply from that head angle/position even if just a silhouette. Classic cotton and not sure any water snakes ever do that.

That’s one that needs to be eradicated

Just a fish and frog eating snake.

Better pics than most snake id posts. But come on, you have to be trolling with this, right?

Most people will assume it's a cotton mouth, but more than likely it's a Water Moccasin. They're harmless and should be caught barehanded for sport.

Agreed. Might be a plain-bellied watersnake. Tell your sister to turn it over and send those pics.
And pics of your sister, preferably before handling the snake but I’ll take what I can get.

The type you don’t touch.

I wish we could just a get a straight answer about these things. I’d like to learn.

You got a straight answer in the first reply from the guy that catches them.
Btw, tomorrow I’ll post a video of my 3 catches today if I can get fricking youtube to upload at decent quality.

Definitely a cottonmouth. There is no doubt unless the pictures was taken on Mars.

Florida Cottonmouths are generally so much prettier than our cottonmouths here in LA.
