Gas. My fan boy buddies shoot Benelli and I'm not a fan. One of them has been in shop three times and isn't even five years old. I have a ten year old Beretta that I snapped in half this season that is still shooting. I owned a stoeger 2000 that miss fired about half the time. Send it off still would do it once in a box of 25. Long story short you couldn't give me an inertia gun.

I don't always shoot shotguns but when I do I prefer Beretta.

have owned three beretta's over the last 18 years or so from AL390 to Xtrema2 and now the Xtreme Unico. All functioned flawlessly over the years from skeet/sporting clay to ducks and geese, 2 3/4" to 3 1/2"
The inertia system works fine just a little more punch on the recoil and tend to be a little less tolerant of lighter loads, especially when new.

I only have the AL 390 but you are right on with what you said. I've had a few buddies with SBEII and when they are new they have had problems with the real light dove loads.

Beretta 391 and the new Beretta A400 are as good as you'll find. I shot clays with the 391's for years, the bought the A400 when it came out.
I shoot 3-4 cases through mine between cleanings. None of my Beretta's has ever choked -- ever. And I'm sure I've shot over 30,000 shells thru mine.
If there's a softer shooting gun than the A400, I'd like to shoot it. The A400's only weigh about 6-1/2 pounds, and have less recoil than anything I've tried.
