The XDs is my edc. If you cant shoot it, sorry but you have a yeast infection. It is one of the best shooting compact guns, regardless of caliber.

Completely agree

I've probably got over 600 rounds through mine without any problems.

I was on Team Glock before anybody...

I had my first Glock 17 in high school....1988. If Glock wants to control the concealed carry market, they need to get off their smug asses and make a single stack.

I love Glock Pistols...and at this point they need to adapt...just like they did in 1987.

Sorry, my manhood is not determined by my gun. A quick glance at my DD214 would confirm that I'm a pretty fair shot. This particular weapon was the personal carry of the range officer. He literally pulled it off his hip as I was headed back to my lane. My review was based on the 5 rounds I put through it. Even though it was about a 2" group, two of the holes were distinctly asymmetric. I'm not too concerned with "look how big a round I can put in this small platform." To me, a weapon is most effective if the round is properly matched to allow for max energy as it approaches max control for the shooter. I will probably end up with an XD of some sort, so my point was not to disparage them, but to share my experience and seek the experience of others.

In hindsight, I should have realized that no matter what I said, someone was going to get their shorts in a bunch.

Funny you should say this, you know, with your previous statements and all.

Regardless, this is the OB we joke and mess around. Lighten up and realize that its all in good nature. I will still thank you for your limited range report and offer you a emoticon of two guys bumping beer mugs together.

The XD's are very reliable guns. Very accurate. Fun as hell to shoot.

I carried a Glock 27 for years. LCP came out and I got that for outdoor activites (mowing the yard, riding the bike with the kids, etc). I like the small package of the LCP but a 380 just doesn't do it for me and it kicks like a mule.

XDs came out. Shot one shortly after release and was hooked.

Glock is in my nightstand. Having a double stack for home defense is great. I like the smaller package for concealed carry.

A fricking Men.

I'm not even a Glock fan but even I can see the insane potential. Glock already has most LE locked down. If they could control a larger portion of the CC market they would be nearly unstoppable.

Maybe they do, but it isn't nearly as noticed as the single stack 9mms. And as you can see, S&W and Springfield both found niches.

M&P Shield owns the 9mm and 40
XDs owns the 45

And now Springfield is releasing the 9mm version. It's only a matter of time before they adapt that to 40. And I would imagine S&W will follow suit down the road and make a Shield 45.

Glock needs to wise up and stop being stubborn. The Glock 30S they released this past SHOT was a waste of time in my opinion. No one sees that chunky bastard as being any smaller than the other ones out there. Until they release a single stack and market it as well as S&W and Springfield have, they will continue to lose that portion of CC sales (not like it will hurt them though).

Took mine to the range today. While I am not ready to replace my 1911's, the XDS was actually pretty fun to shoot. Very accurate considering the platform, very controllable/manageable. My only complaint would be that my pinky hangs off the bottom of the grip and is fairly uncomfortable. Also, after 50 rounds, my thumb and index finger of my grip hand was black. Could be dirty ammo, I just never noticed it from firing other pistols.

Glock is so far behind production due to demand they really have no time nor motive to make anything new.... The customer wants what they currently make. I wouldn't mind seeing a single stack 9mm glock, but would it really be any easier to conceal than what they currently have on the market? Probably not

I paid $640 with tax, was $599 before tax. I've seen them for $550 online, but that was a few months ago.
