I shoot a 7600 .308 to this day. Can’t break away from it. My grandad gave it to me in 1997. Killed a lot of deer at distances from 20-250 yards and

I've seen this recommendation several times. How does it compare vs the DUO DXP55/50? I do get it comes thermal and day time spectrums, but am I sacrificing too much on both spectrums by getting one that does both?
Most of my shooting will be daytime stuff, mainly paper targets, but I really love nighttime yote sniping at my buddy's farm. I'd love to participate with my own equipment, even brag a little with check this shite out

I see that Glock is coming out with yet another confusing 9mm that no one asked for.

Any thoughts on the savage impulse?
I dont have any first hand experience with one. Reviews seems positive, some models can accept AI mags which is a huge plus for me. Easy barrel/caliber changes seem to be the norm with straight pull rifles, but savage hasnt released anything so thats disappointing. There are quite a few people making their own kits though. My brief search says it still uses a small shank savage barrel, so you would just need the sleeve and nut from the original barrel.
Seems like a nice rifle.

a straight pull is easier to rechamber after a shot than a bolt action?

Main difference between the Duo DXP50 and the XP50 LRF is that you are trading a rangefinder for a 4k daytime ability. If you're mostly hunting during the day and don't care about a rangefinder then the DXP50 would be a good choice.
I don't have any experience with the DXP55 so not sure on that one.

A straight pull is a bolt action, but I think you are asking is it easier than say a remington 700 with a 90 degree bolt throw? In theory it is, because instead of rotating the bolt handle, you just need to pull straight back and push straight forward. But it all depends on the rifle, just like how custom actions based on the remington 700 can feel so much smoother than a factory 700.
Downshift had said he felt a pump action was more intuitive than a straight pull. I think for a shotgun, sure a pump makes sense, but for a rifle where you are trying to hit a smaller target that is probably further away a straight pull would be better. It could be argued, but Id think most hunters around here are shooting their rifles in some sort of supported position and not offhand. A pump rifle, in most cases, would require you to break down the position and then rebuild or reset.

HOLOSUN is actually getting a major "battle proven" reputation now as well. Their red dots are seen in almost every 2nd world conflict zone now. The eastern euros and Russians seem to love them.

The beretta straight pull rifle is on their website now.

Don’t make fun of my small hands!
In the same boat. Comically small hands. Anything with a width over 1.3" is out which is why I've been a revolver fan for so long.
ETA: Interested in this as well. Couldn't find any specs on it. I love the VP9SK, but it was just a little big for my hand.

PWS UXR Rifle
i saw this yesterday. it seems like this is the where the industry is going.
Brownell's has the BRN-180
PSA has the Jakl
Sig's MCX Spear/Rattler
HK 416
i have a feeling PSA is going to introduce a 7.62x39 or 7.62x51 model of the Jakl next week.

I dont think any of these can swap out the magwell to shoot large frame calibers. The UXR can do that. Change the barrel and magwell. I dont know how practical it is, but Im sure it will have a place.

Yes, 308 is being announced next week for the JAKL.

Yes around here. Those ADK trackers love pump rifles though.

I’m beginning to feign for a JAKL ever since Garand Thumb did a video on it.
I guess the 308 model will compete with Sig’s XM7/Spear which is pretty cool.

I'm 6'1" and my daughter is 19 years old and 5'1" and maybe 100 lbs. We literally have the same size hands.
I have thrown a football backwards.
The only advantage is that my small dick looks halfway normal in my tiny toy hands.
It's a small consolation
