Scope Recommendations for New Rifle

Was in the gun shop the other day and looked through a sightron. Very impressive. I went ahead and bought one.

I’ve been a Leupold man all my life but I recently switched to Trijicon. This one fits the budget and would fit what you’re looking for beautifully.

Trijicon Huron

I was looking on Primary Arms’ site recently, had no idea they had scopes in the $1500 range now. Anyone have any experiences/opinions?

Always been my thought as well, was wondering if the glass itself actually commands that price though.

As others mentioned, the Trijicon Huron is a good one, right now Academy and probably some other places has Leupold VX-3HD 3.5-10x40 for $499, I’d chose it over the Leupold VX-Freedom, BassPro has a Vortex Intrepid 4-16x42, for $249 really clear and well rated scope, identical to Academy’s Vortex Eagle @$299 and Scheel’s Vortex Rage@ $319. Burris Signature HD 2-10x40 can be found for about $300.

They are made by Vortex like an in house scope for BassPro, Cabela’s, Sheel’s and Academy, possibly others I’m not aware of. 2 guys I know have them and they like them a lot, they shoot well, are clear, track well. As you said Vortex makes a lot of different variations of scopes, I’ve never communicated with Vortex customer service about them to ask where they fit in, they are more like a hunting scope to me than a long range target type scope, not a lot of confusing, busy markings and lines to sort out when you make a shot. I plan to buy one during the next tax free weekend, missed a deal at Sheel’s last month, they had them for $199 and free shipping.
