Is there going to be a point that no matter how big the damn boat, the transom is only going to hold so much.

I know there is some baw out there who has the scratch to power up with these things I just can’t see it. At some point you are sacrificing fuel efficiency overall HP to weight ratio for the ability to go fast.

But who am I to judge.

My brother was telling me he was thinking of upgrading his Mako with 3 of these. The amount of fuel isn’t worth it too me

ETA: upgrade the 2 motors he has on their now to 2 of these, not 3

Are they going to be any worse than the 400r mercs or the 7 marine 627s?

I would like to know who builds the engine, I see Nissan has a 5.6 but the specs aren't exactly the same. Not that I could use one, I don't think my stick steering is rated for that HP

Seven Marine

Yammies are for Poor's, Seven already has a 627 and their smallest is 527.

Don't be underpowered...

627hp doesnt matter when your boat spends 10 months of the year in a shop bc the motors broke

Spend a day at a marina where the majority of the boats are >$250K offshore CC rigs... count the number of Yamies versus other models....

Yamaha still has not fixed their flywheel or corrosion problems. This motor is probably the F350 with a supercharger added to pump up the HP. Build them and people will buy them is the theme.

No. It's a 5.6l V8.

I'm interested to see what the upcoming mercury V8 line has to offer
