My neighbor had a fish fry last night from what he had caught yesterday outta False River. I’m about to load the kayak into the truck and head to Chenal bayou railroad bridge. He said bring blue and white 1/16 oz tube jigs, we’ll see.

It’s chilly out here, 37 degrees with light east wind but sunny. Only boated 4 sacalait so far using two rods. The blue and white jig has caught all of em so far, not even a bump on the chartreuse jig yet. They are close to the pylons near the bottom this morning, wishing I had a subiki rig to try.

My buddy’s dad is the sacalait whisperer. We’d go fishing in the sloughs off of the MS River at their camp in high school. Me and my buddy would stay relatively close to the truck and his dad would disappear for 2-3 hours. We’d forget he was even with us, then he’d come walking back up the bank a couple hours later with a bucket/stringer full of sacs haha.

None for me until middle of next month. This is actually the worst time of year for everything I fish.

I'm catching nothing but catfish and bass on yo-yo's. A few sacs, still too early I believe.
