Asked how a ban on magazines holding more than 15 rounds would be effective in reducing gun violence, DeGette said:

“I will tell you these are ammunition, they’re bullets, so the people who have those now they’re going to shoot them, so if you ban them in the future, the number of these high capacity magazines is going to decrease dramatically over time because the bullets will have been shot and there won’t be any more available.”

I hate stupid, ignorant people. Especially ones that backtrack on dumb crap they say by making it seem like their words were twisted around or misunderstood. The problem is DC is full of these exact people that can't take any responsibility for any of the stupid crap they say. Idiots.

That's impressive. At least she didn't mention the Economist's Year in Review.

My work computer's not pulling up the actual link. Having read the above quote, I agree w/ y'all that like a lot of liberals, she's completely uneducated and ignorant regarding guns, ammo and magazines. OTOH, what if her seemingly "stupid" comment was just a "Freudian slip?" Isn't it possible her comment indicates an unspoken agenda of some on the left to also ban, or at least severely curtail the availability of, ammo. Maybe she thinks that once the ammo in a currently loaded magazine has shot, it won't be able to be reloaded becuase the ammo will have been banned by then? Sounds crazy to us, but we all know there are those on the left who would like to get read of guns by any means possible. If you can't get read of the guns, just get rid of the ammo.
