The house is 11 years old. I am not the original owner of the house so not sure if the units are that old or not.

It will be next year. But most techs won't mess with the stuff anymore since it's so hard to get.

you need to check that it's not a R22 unit. If so it is illegal for a tech to even service the unit and an entire new system using R410A or equivalent will be needed.

Ebay from a seller with lots of previous sales. You will have to sign a permission slip

I hereby certify that the cylinder of R-22 refrigerant that I am purchasing is being purchased solely for the purpose of reselling it to or will be installed by an EPA certified technician. I certify that I will comply with all applicable Local, State and Federal regulations and laws.

I own a bunch of commercial freezer equipment. We have charged older r22 units with propane to keep them running while parts are ordered.

Thanks. Mine at home is a little low I think - getting some frost on the suction line at about 68f return/thermostat temp.

ADP makes a lot of coils for Carrier/Payne/Bryant and many other brands. When one says a Carrier coil, in many cases it is manufactured by other coil builders. ADP coils are well respected.

My apologies for coming off as a know it all. I just took what I heard the guy that installed my system say and ran with it as gospel.

My mistake.

propane is the best conductor of heat out of them all, including R12. But if it springs a leak, kabooommm!!!
