Well, it’s for the best. Either flip the company back to what it was in its prime or let it die.
I own 3 model 700’s. A 90’s which is a good rifle, a 2011 model that never shot as well as I believed a 700 should shoot, and last year I purchased a ‘77. The quality and performance difference in the ‘77 and the ‘11 are noted. I mounted a Leupold vxiii and within 6 shots it was dialed in. I grew up hunting with a Wingmaster and I believe in the guns from the 60’s, 70’s, and into the 80’s were some of the best sporting arms to be found from anyone.

Shame that once such a great company has been reduced to this. I know they recently got a new CEO that made better QC and quality the companies main priority, too little too late unfortunately.

YES! The boycott worked, baws. Remington had THE reference bolt gun and THE reference pump shotgun.

Member when they sided with the government over the citizenry? I member. I never forget.

Try different ammo.

My wife's model 7 in 7-08 was shooting 2.5-3" groups at 100 with Hornady ammo, I went to the range with 5-6 different brands and weights till I found Winchester Ballistic Silvertips in 140 would shoot about an inch or less.

Junk shotguns for years. Wonder where they'll go from here

Awfully sad when you have to tell people "no, don't buy that 870 for a young or entry level hunter. They're not what they used to be"

They have any left over old (original) 870's laying around? I'd be happy to take some at a discounted price.

Hopefully if they turn Remington around, Marlin will also turn around and maybe H&R’s will go back into production.

Happy to hear it. After they cheated me of $150 on an ammunition rebate last year, I will never buy Remington products again.

Pretty amazing how a firearms company can go bankrupt now.
Has to be a pretty terrible manager to manage that.

Surely someone will buy them out at some point? Then launch a "Get Back to Our Roots", "This is Your Grandpa's Remington" ad campaign and, hopefully, start putting out fine Remington products.

SOMEBODY is going to build 700's and 870's forever... right? Right?

You mean when they didn't abandon their workers by leaving them and moving away?

Maybe so but she's killed every deer and antelope she has shot at and most travel just a few yards to DRT. They work for her.
