Not lying. Hunted Friday pm, Saturday, and Sunday morning they came apart. Granted, they were about $30, but ...come on man.
its just not good stuff. Anything I can get at Bass pro I can get a better product at a dozen other stores

True story; I asked dad to order me some blunts (arrow not weed). He filled out the order form and under quantity he put 12 (he wasn’t a bow guy) since they came 12 to a pack. Order took forever so he called and CS said his check was light. He gave them his CC information and it shipped. Opened the box and I was the owner.of 144 blunts. Those are still sitting in the house I grew up in.

Even with all the plant baws around, the ones in Gonzales and Denham Springs rarely have anyone in them
Not saying it's the whole problem, but I'd contribute no foot traffic at the Gonzales location to the road construction on Hwy 30. About 3 years so far and no end in sight.

Remember when Ranger made a great boat?
Remember when your American made truck had a tranny that would last more than 50,000 miles?

They are still made in Flippin, AR. I got to tour the factory a couple years ago. 30% of the employees have been there for 20 years or more. Still the same people building the boat as it used to be

There was a Cabellas in Dallas in the 80's, on Inwood, between Preston and Northwest Hwy, that had safari outfits like you saw on Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom and elephant guns. I never bought anything there, but used to just go in and look around. After I had more income I used to buy ammo and hunting stuff from them online. Remember being pissed when BPS bought them.

That's funny! I ain't sure what the return party was for the mail order places but I bet it wasn't as simple as carrying the items back to Kohl's and handing it to the customer service desk like it is with most Amazon stuff. Good story....

I never have understood how they survive with the overhead of those stores. Always empty when I have been in there.
We have a Cabela's / BPS "Outfitter" store here....smaller version of their big stores. It is about 10% gun counter, has a fishing tackle section smaller than a mid-sized Walmart and about 89% women's clothing. It does some business - mostly women shopping together. I haven't been in there in 5 years - the last time I stopped to get some 1/8 oz jig heads and they not only did not have any they did not have a place for them! Had about 10 different styles of kids super hero and cartoon character rod and reel combos but a kid couldn't buy out the whole store and catch a single crappie....

Nooowwww we are talking LOL. Academy is about as good as it gets here now. They have a servicable tackle section and I don't think I have paid full price for a shirt or a pair of shorts in 10 years since I found their clearance racks!

Every time my kids said "I want X (whatever it was they wanted)" my standard reply was "I want a Ranger bass boat, but I ain't got one...."
Our son is 27 and our daughter is 16 and they say it now when someone says they want something....and neither one of them would know a Ranger bass boat if it hit them in the head LOL....

Why is the construction taking so long? I don’t think I’ve ever been through there when it wasn’t under construction.

That sucks to hear. I’d imagine it’s hurt a few businesses around there

The best value rods and hunting clothes I own have Cabela's name on them.

No clue. I work a few miles away and avoid the area like the plague.
I saw a news blurb a few months back, group of business owners in the area are considering a class action suit over lost business.

Hunted quite often with Forest over the years. An absolute wonderful man. However, after they sold to Johnny (another incredible person), the quality simply hasn’t been the same.
That’s just one man’s opinion who has owned several.

.
Now you're starting to show your age!
I remember looking at every page of GM and sometimes ordering things. Growing up, my best friend's father bought a lot of stuff from the Herter's catalog. In fact, when I bought my first deer hunting rifle, I narrowed it down to a Winchester Model 70 or a Herter's (Model U9, I think). I ended up w/ the Model 70. And the caliber???? 270 Win of course since I grew up reading every word Jack O' Conner wrote in the monthly "Outdoor Life" magazine. Every now and then I'll see new Herter's brand merchandise somewhere, maybe in Cabela's??

Gander Mountain, Netcraft, Cabelas of course, and Herter's

I still spend a good amount of money at bass pro but it’s because I have a black card from them and utilize 10% off for club member Monday’s and my points.
