We do a guided trip in Alberta once a year, other than this year. So far so good.

So you have a witness, you have proof that what you say is true.
I would not convict you in that circumstance.
Again i said you better be able to prove he pointed a gun at you and you did.
You would be justified in that case.
Did those kids point their guns at that old man? I don't know. If they did then i would not convict him either.

Sir,
You’re a fricking idiot and I hope your never placed on a jury in a case like this. Your reasoning in your past couple of posts is quite possibly the dumbest shite I’ve ever read and I think I have lost a few brain cells because of it.
Sincerely,
TheGhostOfBigLee

The state has the burden of proof, not the defendant you arse-ignorant fricking pisspot.
You obviously have no clue how much power a juror has.
But hey, go around executing all the trespassers you want.
I hope it works out for you like you say.
I was trying to protect you from yourself but i see you are a lost cause.

Ok dude. That's enough. This isn't the poli board. We have rules on the OB. One of them is not to be a flaming a-hole. If you can't follow that one, then this board isn't for you.

This is horrible news. Hope all the facts come out.
A buddy and I were hunting Catahoula Lake a few years back in a blind that belonged to a guy he knew. I figured we were in a random blind- public land so we would just leave if asked by the owner. My buddy’s friend came roaring up in his boat yelling to get the frick out of his blind. He was joking just to mess with us but it got me thinking I’d rather hunt in my own spot I found than risk a confrontation in a random persons blind.

Of course its a risk. But if you shoot a trespasser in self defense, immediately call 911 and cooperate with law enforcement's investigation of the incident..
Wrong wrong wrong, did I say you were wrong?
Call 911 and tell them there's been an incident, tell the police you were in fear for your life then lawyer lawyer lawyer.
Never ever ever talk to the police under any circumstances without an attorney, especially if you are innocent.
ETA the only possible exception to this rule is if your brother in law or best friend is the Sheriff or DA

Ciceroing is a time honored tradition on Houla and works if the person vacates said blind when asked.
RF is a CF of houses and as many spinners as one can hang. There has to more to the story to provoke the action but said action shouldn’t have taken place.

TBI just named the the two deceased, Chance Black and Zack Grooms. Look to be in their 20's. Chance seems to be a Guide as well. Would not be surprised if this was an on going spat between two guides over the course of the season. Tragic event for all involved.

One thing that’s crazy to me, the majority of duck hunters I’ve met in TN don’t eat duck. I get all the duck I want every season cause these people all pay thousands of dollars every year, go to their club “work days” etc but they don’t even like duck. Blows my mind.

Man. You might be the dumbest person I’ve ever seen on this site. And that’s quite and accomplishment
You should see his poli board posts. The guy is an unrepentant Q follower who has been lecturing everyone about how they weren't doing enough "work" to be worthy of commenting on political posts.
He's one of the intellectual political elites of the poli board. He's also one of the smartest people he's ever met.

Anyone have a link so one could try to figure out what happened?
TBI still investigating. It will be a day ot two before they will release anything.
This is tragic. You have a lot of idiots that hunt Reelfoot these days. People from all over the US come there to hunt now or get a guide. Why I dont know. The ducks are not there like they use to be. All that were involved in this incident were relativley local boys.
I stopped hunting there years ago. Blinds are to close and the most of the private guides dumb asses.

shite like this makes me happy we don't have ducks like we used to. I haven't shot at a mallard since 2006 and these days I'm damn glad I haven't seen them. Massive hoards of idiot assholes follow ducks everywhere they ever dare pass.

Apparently the lake brings out the devil in mankind. Pretty good article on the fight between locals and big landowners over access to the lake.

The people who made their living fishing felt threatened. One of them, Tom Johnson of the Obion County community of Hornbeak, was quoted by the Union City newspaper as saying:
“(God) saw that we couldn’t make a livin’ farmin’, so he ordered an earthquake, an’ the earthquake left a big hole. Next he filled the hole with watah an’ put fish in it. Then he knew we could make a livin’ between farmin’ and fishin’. But along comes these rich men who don’t have to make no livin’, an’ they tell us all that we must not fish in the lake any mo’, ’cause they owns the lake an’ the fish God put theah foh us. It jus’ naturally ain’t right, strange; it ain’t no justice.’”
Many of the fishermen and their friends began making “nightrider”-type raids of their own against the West Tennessee Land Co. The wave of terrorism went on for about seven months and, as so often happens with lawlessness and terrorism, soon became an instrument of vengeance against people who may have had nothing to do with the West Tennessee Land Co. Crops were burned, docks were burned, men and women were taken from their homes and beaten.
The trouble peaked on Oct. 19, 1908, when Quenton Rankin and R.G. Taylor, two attorneys associated with the land company, were taken from a hotel in the community known as Walnut Log. Rankin was hanged from a tree and shot. Taylor escaped into the swamp amid a storm of bullets and was presumed dead. He survived by hiding under a cypress log for 24 hours.
Tennessee Gov. Malcolm Patterson called out the Tennessee National Guard. Working together with law enforcement officials from several states as well as hundreds of volunteers, they rounded up about 50 suspects. In January 1909, a jury found eight of them guilty and handed six of the eight the death sentence. The verdicts and the sentences were, at the time, hailed as a triumph of law and order, since the attorney general, judge and jury were all reportedly receiving threats during the trial.
“The conviction of these men,” said the Memphis Commercial Appeal, “marks the turning point of nightriderism toward its decline.”

So about 20 years ago we were hunting some of that “public” land around baptist collet. Me my uncles and cousins had some guys who said we were poaching showed up and started arguing about property lines and such. We had already got back to the boats and were sitting in pirogus and we told them we were leaving but would bring our old outdated maps the next time to show we were in the right. Next thing some MFrs started flying from them claiming to whip asses and I hear my uncle slam the action loading a shell in his 1100 saying he was to old to fight.
shite got scary real quick and that’s when I realized how fast shite can happen.
Over a freakin duck.
