Two brothers were shot in my neck of the woods years ago, one died. When it first went down the guy that shot them was automatically guilty, didnt end that way in court.
case here in westwego in 2000 or 2001 two brothers kept having run ins over a stand location with a guy leasing a spot next to them... supposedly the two brothers walk up and confront the other guy threatening him - he shot both.... one died one was paralyzed lived for a few years then died. no charges - civil suit landowners insurance settled i believe one of the guys shot was Theopile B's girls first hubby.

Trespasser dead. Land owner claims trespasser pointed a gun at him so land owner shot and killed him.
I don't like poachers any more than you do. But if you think you won't end up in jail over this, then you are taking a big risk. IMO.

"We were minding our own business hunting our own property when we came across this guy poaching. He got angry and pulled a gun on us when we confronted him, we had no choice but to shoot him. There is his gun right there next to him"

Chainsaw video
Limitless Waterfowl down in Venice pulled up on some young kids and started chopping down the blind they were hunting mid hunt. The guide tried to claim it was private land and the kids in the blind said it was public. I don’t know exactly where the kids were hunting but it wouldn’t have surprised me if they were on public land. Limitless has tried to run me off of parish property numerous times just so they could have the area to themselves.
