Recs for saltwater spinner rod n reel

Using live bait for redfish, trout, etc!! Looking for low to moderate pricing!

Assuming you mean for inshore.
Daiwa BG, 2500 or 4000 depending on target. Rod is dependent on what you'll target but for the most part I've had the same success on trout and redfish with $30 rods as $200 rods

Avoid combos at all costs. Choose a Daiwa/Shimano reel of your comfort level, then match it with a M or ML from basically anyone that feels right to you. I recently bought an AirdX from Daiwa after initially thinking they were crap, and it performed very well on its first trip.

$150 is tough to do, but try a Lews' Mach 1 rod
and a Pflueger President XT spinning reel. This should come in just a bit north of $150.

My son loves his Penn 2500 reel. I think we just put it on an Academy or H20 rod. He's been reeling in some reds this summer.

To the OP - if you dont want to spend that much, buy one of these (I would go reel first if it was me) and a cheap rod, like aforementioned the Aird X. When that breaks, get a better rod.

Another Daiwa BG rec, 2500 for inshore. If it stretches your budget go cheap with the rod, they don't matter as much for reds and trout.

Shimano Sedona reel 3000 size ($90) and Shimano Sellus rod ($65). My Sedonas have performed flawlessly and I beat the hell out of them. I honestly like them just as much as my Stradics. The Sellus is an unbelievable rod for the price and they make a 7’ medium that would be perfect for inshore fishing. You can probably find both at your local Academy
