I had a Petzl one that worked really well and lasted long. It had a spot pattern, and then a little sliding thing where you could pull a flood pattern over it. No idea what happened to it, so I can't tell you the model #

I have this one: Qbeam 809-2631-1 7-Led Headlight - $20 and it works great. Takes 3 AAA batteries and has 4 setting: Hi, Lo, Red or Green.

It's taken a beating and had no issues. It's very bright and the angle is adjustable.

TexasTiger (I think) had a thread around two years ago about a rechargeable cree headlamp from Amazon. Cheap enough that I bought two. They've been awesome. I use them for running jugs, so that I can move around the boat, and not be tethered to the battery. Plenty bright enough, and although they're not labeled waterproof, they've been submersed many times while on and still work fine.

Just read some reviews about the Cree.
Looks like people are pissed about the batteries and charger being sold separately.

I have a PrincetonTec.

A little pricey at $90, Im sure the lower priced lights are just as good.

That light that Coco has is real nice

I have a Black Diamond storm. Only have two hunting seasons on it but so far it has been a great light.

Mine was a gift so I dont have the personal guilt of wearing a $100 lightbulb on my forehead at 4am.

Nothing spectacular about it. Nice light but requires 4 AAs and eats them fairly quickly

ETA: OP My brother has a nice Black Diamond light that wasnt very exepensive. Take a look at them too

Not a fan personally but I like flood lamps not a spot.

I got mine off Amazon and it came with the charger, I just looked and they have plenty of them on there with the charger. I think I paid $30 for it and it was well worth it. All Cree lights are good lights supposedly.

This is he one that was shared a few years ago:

[link=https://www.amazon.com/dp/B009QX8B2Q/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_C4h8vbXMZK7DZ]SecurityIng® 3X CREE XM-L T6 LED 3800Lm LED Headlight Headlamp and Bicycle Light (Generic Packaging) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B009QX8B2Q/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_C4h8vbXMZK7DZ[/link]

I have it and it works great. Def bright enough for what you're looking for.

(Hopefully link works, posting from phone....)
