I need to go get a new reel before a yak redfish trip this Saturday. Any recommendations on a reel (not baitcaster) under $100? I've always liked Shimano products. Thanks in advance.

Abu Garcia revo x, gus’ tackle in Slidell is running a special, buy one revo x for 99$ and get a rod 50%off. So for 150$ I got a revo x and Veritas 7’ rod. (200$ value).

Just saw the No baitcaster part... I’m out.
You missed a good deal on penn battles last week though.

And 3 baitcasters so far suggested.

I like penn battle II and the penn clash. Best bang for your buck is the penn fierce II IMO

The FK Stradic models were on sale before they announced the new line at ICAST. Puglias and others had them down to around $125-130. Maybe swing by there and see if they are still on sale? I find they usually have the best price on reels if I am buying from a physical store.

Shimano Seirra, Sedona, Sahara can all be had for under $50 and will be perfect with 20# braid. Mine are going on 3 years with only moderate care and used by people that don't care.

Get whichever Daiwa is closest to $100.

Abu Garcia black max. Academy has em for ~$50-70 depending on if you want a bait caster or spinning reel
This was for rod and reel combo just reel ought to be cheaper

OP should maybe change the thread title and post to specifically state "spinning reel"

Saw a bait caster with rod (Lews) for 85.00 out the door at Walmarks the other day. 8 bearings reel, medium heavy rod.

I have a lews mach 1 spinning reel that has become my primary that I love very, very much. It is basically their mid level spinning reel but its awesome. I'd imagine you spend another 20 or so bucks and you should be able to get something even better...but I wouldn't....I'd buy the mach 1 all day long and put the rest toward a better rod.

You can get the Lews Mach Crush (orange) for $99 from Academy plus the $20 off for $100 might still be going on. That is a very good reel for that price.

Plenty good suggestions so far, but these are solid for even cheaper than most.
I have to admit, for ~$30, those Siennas are tanks. I bought one years ago to keep for guests/spares and that MFer will not die.

Zebco’s new Bullit is nice. Wal Mart has the best price.
