About two weeks ago, I checked Midway and they had a case (5000 rounds) CCI Blazer available for 4 cents a round. I bought a case and two minutes later there was none left.

I'll be going to academy in Dallas soon...............I'll hoard up a bunch of .22 and sell to you fine OBers at only a semi inflated price.

I'm in league city/clear lake tx. I haven't seen 22 in Walmart in well over a year. Maybe my timings all off. But frick it. I wait for internet deals. Got to be quick though. I don't find Academy prices to be very good. I don't get ammo from them.

That just means that they aren't trying as hard as other vendors to procure the ammo. People are getting it. People do stock it 100% of the time. They sell much more stuff, which is their bread and butter, so why waste resources on trying to dig bullets out of the ground?

Whats ridiculous is you people havent figured out how to purchase 22lr without going to walmart or paying 70 a brick.

Quit buying it overpriced and people will quit buying it to resell.
We dont need commercial regulations dictating a market. Supply and demand.

Fwiw i have access to over 50k rnds of 22lr. It's not hard to find today.

To the op. Wow! How about lowering the prices so all the ammo hoarders will lose their arse on their current inventory. Then they will sell at a loss and say frick that shite I'm not taking another risk. The other option would be they hold onto in hopes the price goes back up. It would be just like all these folks that bought AR's for $1500 that I can buy for $699

He doesn't know what the hell he is talking about. The problem is widespread all over the county. I was in Texas several weeks ago and the shelves at the wal marts and the one gander mountain I stopped in had less ammo than I see in Baton Rouge. In Columbus, Ohio last week 500 people were in line at the local Cabelas before it opened to try to get some 22 on the door buster sale.

Ammo is rising fast enough on its own. Look a ammo prices between now and ten years ago.

Basic economic principles are lost on some people

Oddly, some places have no problems with ammo. Others haven't seen a solid amount in a few years.

I have been told by employees of multiple stores around BR that pawn shop owners send people out to buy all of the ammo that Walmart, Academy, Cabelas, Bass Pro, etc get as soon as they get it. Since it can't be bought around town, they put up big signs saying that they have ammo, and mark it up 3000%

Not in Omaha. Friend of mine went to a sporting goods store while there for the CWS and said there was plenty. Limit of one box OF 50 per customer though.

Wow. I wasn't trying to get everyone's panties in a wad. It was a legitimate question. Didn't realize such a large percentage don't have a basic understanding of economics. Dat yat and Coach in Waiting and a few others get it. The rest of y'all nevermind.

How about letting the market dictate the price so that the resellers can't turn a profit?

Big retailers are selling it at market price. What don't you understand? I would think companies like cabelas and walmart understand the market more than eon blue balls

Retailers are selling it at market price. There are a few people who are too lazy to do a little work to find it at market price so they pay the first price that's thrown at them (secondary market).
You don't have a good case for letting the market set the price—it already has; you have a case for people who are too impatient or lazy to find it at market price.
