Been there done that, he watched me did his grave the day before my vet came by to do the deed. Funeral procession came by to give him all the treats he wasn’t allowed to have prior. Still makes me cry.

We put down ours earlier this year. Fricking horrible, will never stay for another one.
Worst part was he deteriorated so quick and it came out of no where. Got home from work trip, brought him to the vet and put him down less than two weeks later.

Sorry for your loss, man. I know it doesn't feel like it, but the pain and feelings of guilt and remorse will go away. They never live long enough and you did the right thing. A dog never wants to live in suffering, they just cant tell you that. The selfish thing would be to keep the animal in pain or in a way of life they dont deserve (incapacitated, etc). He is at peace and you will find yours soon as well.

Best thing we did was getting 2 Corgi sisters that have help with the loss of our Border collie . Nothing better than the unconditional love they give us . Im honestly sorry for your loss .

I’m sorry. It fricking sucks. I had to put down my 12 year old gsp a month ago. She developed cancer in her spine and went downhill in a little over a week. We would towel carry her to the back yard and she tried her damndest to walk and go potty on her own but it was too much for her. The hardest part was watching her deteriorate so quickly. We kept her comfortable and loved for that week and held her til the end. shite I’m tearing up now typing this.
Side note: we carried her from Spanish fort to Baton Rouge for a neuro consult with dr boogie yates. He was awesome. Highly reccomended even tho he delivered some pretty bad news.

Did it two weeks ago. Her dog and he was around long before me, and I still miss that little guy every time I walk in. Lost my dog in Jan 18 and still miss him, too.
