Where can I get a propane tank refilled near lsu? I rather refill it than exchange it bc I always seem to get screwed whenever I exchange them.

I always get screwed as well and usually go to Goodwood Hardware at Jefferson and Goodwood for refill, but not close to LSU

I went last week to Parish Hardware at Acadian and Perkins right next to Tuesday Morning.

They have new tanks in their exchange so I didn't care.

Plus their customer service is great, they let me take paint home without paying for it just to try it out. I try to give my business to them.

This. It's also known as Highland Hardware, on Highland near Kenilworth just past Matherne's. Husband gets refills there, and I'm pretty sure they'll do the Blue Rhino ones too.

I don't know about the places listed, but the trouble I run into is that the places I bring my propane tanks have a 5 gallon minumun. So basically, I pay for a full tank anyway, so I am better off just exchanging it at Lowes or anywhere else.

Just my .02

Where can I buy a tank at? I also need to find an adapter to hook up to fittings meant for the small coleman tanks. I've got a small tailgate grill that would be cool to hook a refillable tank to.

They shouldn't do this. They should weigh it. Just being lazy

Have the small Weber that uses small cylinders and bought the adapter at home depot for large cylinders.

You're not getting screwed switching it out. If you're exchanging it with BlueRhino, their tanks are filled with 15 lbs of propane(3.5 gallons).

Unless he's running his tank completely dry, then I'd have to agree that he is getting screwed. It's like paying for a full tank of gas in your car every time you fill up, no matter the residual.

I usually go to Ace Brothers on Millerville to get my tank refilled. Had a tank that was out of date so he would not fill it up. I told him I would just go to Lowes and exchange it out.

Guy tells me that when you exchange they only put 15lbs in the tank instead of the full 25lbs for a 5 gallon tank.

FYI-- Ace Brothers like most stores charge for a full 5 gallons even if your tank has propane left in it. So I sucked it up and bought a second tank that way I empty out the first one before it needs refilling.

So is there anywhere around here that charges you by weight instead of for a full tank? Every place I've filled one back home weighed it.

I have one of these. It's made by Coleman and sells for $20-$40 plus the hose. Very handy.

I have also seen an adapter that allows you to refill small cylinders from big ones. I think it was around $20.

Tank exchanges are a rip-off. I take mine to Shenandoah Hardware.

Eds will screw u unless u ask him to weigh it. You have to ask. The best deal I've found on propane is academy 14.99 or is it 15.99. For a swap out. No tax.
