It's a freshly dug hole filling up with run off. It may take more than a day to settle and develop some algae, micro-organisms, and other things needed as a base to establish a pond.

You sound like my mom, she's worried about the clarity and ready to buy fish.

Looking good, Clyde! Very curious to see the water level and depth at the levee when water finally starts to pour over the overflow.

The spillway is in the picture at the far end. I'd say it has another 4 feet to go.

The deepest part of the pond to the left of the pic is the corner where the levee bends. I'd say it's about 3 feet deep now. I'm guessing it will be 7' deep at full pool.

If you've had as much rain as Houston this month, this bad boy should be full.

It's come up about another foot.

You can only see the tallest stump sticking out of the water in the lower right hand corner of this pic. The little bit of land and most of the stobs/stumps are now covered.

Still could use another 3 feet... It seems to be catching good, but it will soak, seap and evaporate a little in between rains. It's moving in the right direction though.
