Have you done any soil testing? Prettymuch a 99% chance you will get back a recommendation for lime, and if you do it now it will save you a ton of money and bullshite.

I’m sure your homeowners insurance company will appreciate you building a pond with 100% shallow end.

Not at all love my pond just the way it is
Everybody needs a pond IMO & if I had a place big enough for a huge pond I'd do it.

Looks good
Tell your mom she'll enjoy it when she gets her a big ole catfish on her line.
Only have bream & bass in mine but have a neighbor that has bream & catfish. His catfish goes crazy when they feed them. You actually could dip them with a dip net during the feeding. Read in the thread about the catfish eating everything in this thread from someone but I can tell you he has flathead minnows, bream & catfish that are all doing well. Ima gonna say that's a lot to do with the supplement feeding

Then install some gravel beds. Spots that are 12'x12' with at least 4" of gravel. Two beds will be good. This is a outstanding source for spawning beds. Install them in 3'-4' of water.

You literally can’t put too many, especially considering they just won’t use some due to other factors. Our bluegill will shift around the pond bedding over the course of the year due to changing sun angles, prevalent wind direction, etc. The limiting factor is space available in the right depth range and what you’re willing to spend on trucking in gravel, a good plan is to place at least one on all sides so the fish have options.

I thought we might get some rain off the tropical storm that came through MS, across NELA and into AR, but we just managed a small shower out of it. It's going to take lower temps and some lingering fronts with 3 day soakers to get it catching water. As of now, it's still dry.

We’ve had a few rains. First couple just soaked in, the latest rain finally started collecting.

What is your problem? You've been replying my name to a number of my posts, so it's obviously a pattern. I've tried to be polite and ignore you but it's time I said something.

Stop it.
