Definitely the 940 as a great all around EDC, I have a 940, 940-1, 940-2, and a 940-3. I have lots of other Benchmades too and pretty much all make solid EDC's. I also have Microtech, Zero Tolerance, CRKT, Emerson, Cold Steel, Spyderco, SOG, Kershaw, and many others in my collection. There are tons of great options in those price points, though I try to buy US-made. Kershaw has awesome automatic knives for the money in the Launch series, have a Launch 7950 in my pocket today, got it for $105 which is pretty good for a made in USA knife in Magnacut steel.

Just looked it up on Amazon.

Very nice, but 320 bucks is a bit out of my league.

I'll have to stick with ol' Mr. Buck.

Thought I lost my current one last night walking into a concert I put it under a stack of traffic cones

Can't even carry a pocket knife to a concert now? Obviously, I don't get out much anymore.

I wanted a benchmade Osborne since 2008…. Just could never muster up the $230 for one. Finally got one this year and wish I just would have pulled the trigger sooner. It is such a perfect pocket blade.

You can find the on eBay for like $150ish

Mildly priced? Say 50-100 bucks.

You can get a simple case folder with a D2 blade for like $35. Excellent simple pocket knife that can take a beating. Benchmade mini griptillian used to be $85 and were a great value there. I think they cost more now. Mine is probably 15 years old now, went back to benchmade once for a broke lock spring.

Ridiculously priced knives. Just as a frame of reference. Say $200- Whatever you wish u could spend.

feel about pocket knives the same way i feel about sunglasses, I'm going to lose it before long so im not spending $$$

I've lost plenty of cheap sunglasses and such. But when I have nicer things, I am more mindful and never have had an issue. Benchmade Bugout is pretty much with my keys and wallet if not in my back pocket as far as keeping track.

I've been wanting a good OTF one. Would like for it to be on the smaller side.

I have a few that I rotate through. I have a slight obsession with finding inexpensive knives made with good quality and above average steel:

CJRB Feldspar

Petrified Fish

Petrified Fish

Kizer Roach Mini

SOG

Civivi

Spyderco Polestar

If I'm wearing slacks and dont want a knife clip on my pocket, I carry the classic (and my favorite):

CASE

I got a UKPK in 2013 when it was just grey FRN with a CTS BD-1 steel blade. Neat knife for $40 then but not worth nearly $100 now. Delica, Manix..they have lots of other options but unfortunately nowhere near as many good value options as they had before.

Few of my Spyderco knives for the OP's reference Manix XL down to a ClipIt, also that little Shrade OTF is pretty solid with a D2 blade. Got it for $80 shipped a while back when they went on sale.

Kershaw whirlwind, bought 2 because I get use to opening them and hate switching to another knife. Ofcourse they discontinued them. I've abused them, blown tips off jumping across solenoids in a bind, sharpening them past serrations, but i just love them. Down to my last one.
