Never said the methhead couple deserves to keep it, but if he wants to go the legal route then he should at minimum get a ticket for improperly secured load. That’s not a beer can flying out of the back of a pickup, it could have killed someone and he’d have been responsible for it. Buy your buddy some better straps and teach him how to use them if he gets his yak back.

For what? That's clearly not even the same boat. Or the same guy. This poor dude is about to have his listing blown up for nothing.

To me it doesn't look like the yak in either of the OP's pictures. No keel guard on the pic on top of the car and I don't see the H-bar in the FB post pic where it was posted as lost/dropped. Don't see a fish finder in either pic but not clear enough for me to tell. Hope guy gets his yak back.

Seriously doubt he loaded rods in it, put it in the water and took pics.

Between Raceland and GI... Seriously?

I can't believe he took that long to realize it was gone. When I'm pulling something or something in the back of my truck, I'm constantly eyeing the thing up.

Yeah, seems like an airhead but it would be nice if the people arranged a return. Not sure what ended up happening.

I assumed the post is legit. But with people always looking for a scam these days you never know if the photos were taken off the web somewhere.

Just thought it may be a lead for the guy is all. Again, not assuming this is the guys boat.

If you have roof bars, you need to do something to the end of each bar.

I drill a hole and put a Thule bolt and knobbed nut on the bottom.

If your straps come slightly loose, the bolt will keep it from going off the end.

Glad I saw this thread last week. Had to bring down a new Paddle board to the island this weekend and you better believe I had two straps and two ropes and was still checking it after the turn on the toll bridge!

Reminds me of a bass boat I saw on the shoulder of the road on Hwy 28 W once.
I was coming home from Kincaid after dark one evening and there was a fairly new Hydra Sports bass boat with a 85 Mercury on the shoulder of the road( not on a trailer)
I stopped and looked at it and it didn’t look like it had much damage but it was dark.

I just went on home and cleaned my my fish but I always wondered why a nice boat like that was lying on the shoulder of a highway.

Few years later this guy came to work where I was working and we got to talking about fishing.
He proceeded to tell me a story about the time he borrowed his brother’s boat and went fishing at Kincaid. The boat slid off the trailer and he didn’t realize it until he got to his brother’s house. Boat trailer with no boat.

They went looking for it and loaded it up,had no damage except road rash he paid to get fixed,
His brother never let him borrow his boat again.

I couldn’t figure out how someone couldn’t notice a boat falling off a trailer but after working with the guy a while it turns out he was a real airhead.

I had asked him about it on Facebook a while back and I believe he had gotten in contact with the people who had it and was going pick it up from them when he got back from working offshore.
