So I took in this stray kitten against my instinct.

Dude is a beast, killed rats in 3 out of last 4 nights. Also kilt 2 squirrels. Everyone says to get him cut, I don't want to do it. He disappears about once every 2 months for 2-3 days then comes back.
My chocolate lab and kids love him, wife says he is a problem.
Gonna be hard to get rid of one of them. Options?

Just wanted to brag how much I hated cats but love this un.

My daughter keeps asking for a cat. I've never been a cat guy. If I ever cave in I'm thinking I'll get a Maine coon cat.

Why is he a problem to your wife? I bought a house a few years ago that came with a cat I wasn’t aware of. fricker was feral and what I thought was a kitten. My wife drove all the way to work one morning with this cat in the engine compartment and it survived. I took that as a sign I should probably feed it and make it my shop cat. So I did and that cat, KC(short for kitty cat), was snake killing, mouse killing, rat eating, machine. It also turned into a great cat that would just hang out and give people love in between her missions eradicating my property and shop of things I didn’t want there. I’ve never cared for cats, but that cat. She was cool.

I misread the title and thought he killed a rattle snake.

Sounds like a keeper.

If he doesn’t spray anything, you don’t need to.

I have 2 female cats outside. I had them fixed for obvious reasons. But they are still some varmint killing machines.

This was yesterday’s present

This was today’s present

Not to mention countless mouse and mole heads.

Good kitty

Chances are your unfixed male cat will turn feral.

I don’t like outdoor cats because they wipe out so many wild creatures. Indiscriminate killing machines.

They could leave the birds alone. I agree.

years ado I had a larger very white male cat. He would lay down in the dark green St Augustine grass and play dead. The blue jays would start swooping down, closer and closer. he would not move at all until one would get too close then he would grab it so fast you could hardly see it. He would bring it into the bushes, have his meal and bring the remains to my wife

A gift from God

Unneutered males roam, fight resulting in nasty abscesses from bites and have horrible smelling spray, get him neutered.
Male cats are the sweetest.

I have one of these. Perhaps one of the dumbest animals to walk the earth. Hairballs the size of a small garden snakes, and this bastard drools. Like Hooch style, swinging over the head drool. He's 13 years old now. At his biggest he was 22 lbs of feline muscle that could reach the top of the door way from a standing jump. Easily the worst decision I've ever made in my life. Seriously...

I hate cats with a passion but when my 7 yo daughter at the time brought home one that was gifted to her by her best friend, I had no choice. This male cat is god awful ugly but is a lethal killing machine that has single handed wiped out the rats that invaded my detached garage. A dead bird or squirrel is just collateral damage now.

Sounds like you got a good one. We had one like that. Little a-hole would disappear for months. Then pop in missing half his ear and covered in battle wounds. Hang out a few days and then run the streets again
