So tomorrow’s time trial is just for funsies?
I expect TD and Roglic to pull back some time on Thomas, but not the current deficit. The time trial is not long enough for TD to pull back 2+ minutes on Thomas.
That said, time trials can still be filled with mechanical issues, crashes, or just dead legs after three weeks of racing. With no one to help you get back on pace, easy to lose a bunch of seconds.
There was no neutral start for the race today. Race was on from the gun. None of the GC contenders attempting to get in the break allowed Sky to get their train on the front per usual.
I found this image on another site. It shows the times of the GC guys up the last climb this year compared to the last two times this climb was in the Tour. I, like everyone else, want to see attacks, but you can see why it's so difficult when Sky starts setting the pace up climbs.

Crash can be seen here. Skujins fixes the chain on the bike and out of view spins the cranks so that in view the camera can see the rear wheel spinning.

As expected, Skye was the most prepared team today, and it showed.
To hit the deck?
At 33KM left (before Landa's crash), Movistar still had 8 guys in the main peloton. After Landa's crash, three guys dropped back to pace him to only losing 7 seconds on the main GC guys. If Froome or Thomas had crashed like Landa did when he did, I don't know if either would have only lost 7 seconds.

Team doctor Max Testa gave details about his condition and also the plan heading forward. “Richie has been discharged by the hospital and the diagnosis is that he has a non-displaced right clavicle fracture,” he said.

Probably not Benoot as he abandoned after his late crash in yesterday's stage. Matthews has also abandoned due to illness.
Van Avermaet placed higher than Tejay in Stages 1 and 2. After Stage 2, although they had the same time, Van Avermaet was in 18th and Tejay was in 43rd.

How is the jersey decided between Avermaet and Teejay since they have the same time?
Place standing in the General Classification.
I really like it. It doesn't wear tires out as fast since it has two rollers as compared to a fluid trainer. And with the number of tires I have laying around, I have no reason to buy dedicated trainer tires. For the years I had my Kickr, I gradually shifted away from ERG mode just to resistance, and eventually it just made no sense to keep it.
Resistance wise with the Omnium, it just comes down to gearing, cadence, and tire choice. It's obviously not a good platform to do standing sprints on as you're removing weight off the rear wheel and losing some resistance, but for everything else, I find it's a great training platform.

I've gone from a fluid trainer, to a Kickr, and now do all my indoor training on a Feedback Sports Omnium. Granted I have a power meter on each bike I use with it, but it has plenty of resistance for the training I do. It's also very portable and works well for warming up/cooling down at races.
Accidents can happen in any sport, even cross country skiing. We recently had a skier requiring an air med lift out after the skier collided with another skier and fractured his skull.

I think they felt the edge of the eye wall they caught was going to be a bit further north towards Lamar, and then the storm shifted west more and went over Rockport.
Granted he has not shown great choices of places to stop, both the gas station and this car wash, both with roof structures that are usually the first to go in hurricanes.

I would suggest spending a little more money and get a Kona Private Jake.

You mean by sticking tiny apartments in the backyards of homeowners who then wouldn't own that building until after 5 years? Tiny homes for homeless
I'm glad I stopped on the east side of the Cascades. The beer is also better here.
re: Who here has had a tonsillectomy as an adult?
Posted by jguidroz on 3/28/17 at 8:52 pm to ForeverLSU02
I had mine out at 32 or 33. I took none of the prescribed pain medicine after the surgery. Granted I had emergency surgery a week later for something completely unrelated to the tonsillectomy that included a 3 day hospital stay. The recovery from the emergency surgery was much, much worse than the tonsillectomy recovery.
The first few days post tonsillectomy were nothing compared to the pain of a kidney stone.

Raleigh is a good brand.
I would recommend a cyclocross/gravel bike. You can fit much wider tires than you can on road bikes, are equally capable on pavement, and work well on single track. If it's mostly flat where you live, I'd go for simplicity and buy a singlespeed cyclocross bike. Simple setup, easy to maintain, and if there are any cyclocross races in the fall, well you already have a bike for it.
Raleigh even makes one. https://www.raleighusa.com/bikes/road/cyclocross/rxs

Usually run the same choke in each barrel, unless I feel like challenging myself, then I'll have a tighter choke in the top barrel. I typically shoot the bottom barrel first, unless I have a different choke in the top barrel, then I'll shoot the top barrel first when the first target is farther away than the second.
I race on a set of tubulars, and it's quite hard to beat the ride quality of tubulars with clinchers. That said, when I race on clinchers, I'm now racing Turbo Cottons, and these very much equal the feel of tubular tires with the added bonus of being very fast with very good grip.
