They also cancelled the Katy 50, which I was planning on running, because the trails are all washed out. The water is up big time all around here right now. I went down to the MO river near Boonville last weekend and it was as high as I have ever seen it in the fifteen years I have lived up here.

people buy into these gated neighboorhoods with the assumption that it will keep the "others" out when in fact it rarely does so. I understand the developers reaction as i have family in that business and they are constantly dealing with thieves and want to keep anyone who doesnt live there out at all costs. That being said he went about delivering his message in a totally uncalled for manner.

If he wouldnt have slapped this kid around then hell he probably would have been back the next day fishing. Sometimes you gotta lay the law down

Does your life suck so bad that you have to bring your bullshite comments into every thread about something out of the norm. Seriously dude, you are the biggest douche on this site. I'm 23 and yeah I would have left with a respectful approach from this guy. Your comments make me

Hmmmm. OB top 5 for sure. Not in top 100 if rant and OT count.

Seriously man. Every poster on the OB has constructive things to say and advice to help out, then here comes the big badass wolf to drop bombs when he's not even in the discussion. Haha

. I was being rude and then he got in his truck and started to drive off. I say "have a nice day a-hole",
Really? Had a similiar situation but instead of this I just Yes sir, not a problem. Then started talking to him and ends up we knew some of the same people and he would regularly invite me on rabbit hunts with his dogs. Hopefully you've learned a little something, those people who come across like that can be killed with kindness and once you've won him over you just may leave with a friend. Good luck

I just hate a thief and a trespasser. You thought you were entitled to fish a lake because you knew a gate code. You may be a cool guy but your character looks like a 50lb bag of dogshit

Got anything lined up to steal or a place to trespass?

True, I'm just giving him a hard time but keeping the fish doesn't change anything in my opinion. Trespassing is trespassing

Nobody has argued this entire thread whether or not he was trespassing, the guy was out of line the way he handled him. He was obviously not behaving threateningly, he could have tried to resolve it in a civilized manner first before assaulting him.

And there are two sides to every coin. I would have probably whipped his arse too if he was trespassing on me and then wanted to be a dick bag when I told him to gtfo. From what I read the guy didnt drive up and proceed to attacking him, he did after a trespasser smarted off to him.

Still doesn't constitute assault IMHO

If I was older and rich like the property owner is described as, I probably wouldn't mind an assault charge if it meant I could send a message by whipping some smartass kids arse. The only thing that should have been said to the older guy was yes sir no sir.
We can squash this. Moral to the story, don't trespass and be a smartass to the landowner. It might just get your arse whipped like it did this kid..

I wasn't even close to getting my arse kicked bro. (clearly didnt read the story) The dude grabbed my neck for a split second. Sir's and Maam's go straight out the door when the first thing an adult says to you is motherfricker. Eat a dick you little kid.

What if you were poor? You trade your balls in for food stamps?

I need to re read...I saw no arse whippings.
I do however see a few folks that believe there was every reason to believe the OP was in there hauling some goods out of there in a kayak. All the efficient crooks are doing it......
After all, isnt that why the dude was a jackass...because he has had some theft and vandalism. Vandals come in kayaks.
To the OP....when in situations where you are 100% wrong, usually smartassing is not the way to go...just an FYI
