Yeah I trespassed...Yeah it was wrong, but I did have the access code and didn't just follow someone in like the guy insinuated. I had talked to neighbors who were interested in my kayak and what I was catching and thought everything was cool.

I live on the pond in my neighborhood and I can sympathize with the owners. I have kicked numerous kids out of my yard and the neighbors yard.

My neighbor hasn't been home since pre Sept 2008 and there is no fence between our yards.

I, however, have been very nice in asking the kids to stay out of our yards. It has worked for a while and a few times I've had to run a few off. But always being nice and asking them to leave. Your patience does begin to wear thin when they keep pushing the envelope; but I'd never call te cops on them unless they fricked with something of mine.

To the OP, I don't blame you for doing what you did when he put his hands on you; but you shouldn't have been fishing there without permission.

I agree, but I was never on anyone's property. I launched on the edge of a huuuge empty lot and was in this pretty big lake the entire time. Didn't come close to any homeowners land.

Where was your jeep parked? Were you in the neighborhood in which you live? Do you know the meaning of life?

The point is, you shouldn't have been there. I'm not scolding you at all, just making a point.

All land is owned by someone.

My jeep was parked on the empty lot. I don't live in the neighborhood.

As for the meaning of life, I'm still searching but I found some help.

Yeah I knew. Was just poking in your cage. I completely understand how the envelope can be pushed due to a drive to hunt/fish that only those of us who love it can understand the craving.

That's what gets me. Usually I the people living on the pond are gnerally cool with it everything's unless you act like an arse, keep fish or trash stuff. I'm guessing one of the wives probably got bent out of shape and called someone about it, it happened to us in a pond in an undeveloped part of a neighborhood. Slaughtered the bass for 4 days or so, the woman who's house was closest (10 lots away) kept watching us and called the cops the 5th time. No landowner ever spoke to us.

I really don't think that was the case. I think the guys were just driving through and saw my car on an empty lot and went to investigate.

They sound like real douches by the way they approached you.

It's a privacy issue. Do you want someone in/around your back yard every day?

I'm not in someones back yard and they cant even see me from their house. I see your point but I guess its just me trying to defend my angle on the situation.

No doubt, and I would feel the same way if it was my neighborhood. I guess it just sucks that there's so many nice places to catch a few fish that we can't fish because of the people/kids that behave like jackasses. And I shouldn't expect people to trust me around there homes I suppose without really knowing me.

Wasn't it your thread a while back about the people fishing your neighborhood pond and being real dicks about it? If so you seem to be handling the issue very well.
