but how often does that happen?

Probably not often but I have seen it happen on 2 different uppers. One was a bear creek arsenal and the other was a Colt 9681 9mm AR.

Waiting on shorter handguards and will change them. Not sure if I'll use a dust cover.

What do you gain by this decision

About $6. Just kidding. I forgot to order one.

What are the Gucci bcgs now?

I need to finish my 10.5" upper. Trying to decide on the superlative arms piston kit or a normal bcg and adjustable gas block.

I haven't bought parts in a few years.

I use JP low mass bcg and adjustable gas block. This combo has last me 10-15k rounds

Just curious, I am asking out of complete ignorance. Are you mentioning barrel length because shorter barrels are harder on bcgs? Or just describing the build?

Just describing what I'm building, but yes the short barrels are generally harder on parts.

I was thinking of the piston kit because I'm a lefty and would rather the gas be bled off the front of the gun rather than my face.

Microbest seems good. Looks like there's only a few brands that other companies slap their names on.

LMT EBCG gets mentioned a lot. LMT (I think) makes their own BCGs.

Other than KAC, the hardest to get might be the FCD one. I tend to go either standard LMT phosphate or the Sionics NP3.

I got the heavy variable mass for my large frame, because I plan to suppress. After 0 rounds fired mine still looks brand new without going KAC I probably couldn't have spent more, but that's not really the goal. LMT also makes great stuff. I was talking to craddock precision a month or so back, and I'm fairly sure he mentioned something about azimuth was who they were using in house.

Anyone run a Brownells LW BCG? They have them on sale and you can use their current 10% of coupon on it as well. The black nitrade is around $98.99 plus tax and shipping.

Ordered one for my 300BO pistol build. Plan on running it with an adj gas block.

I use a standard BCM but I like the LWRC one with the gas key being part of the carrier.

I have a tin coated one on one of my backup ARs. I only have a couple hundred rounds thru it. I have no complaints

Ya, I thought about using the bootleg builder adjustable carrier because you don't have to remove it to make adjustments.

I have those types in my 2A balios lite setups but haven’t got to fool with them yet. I’m curious to see how they do in the 300 and 556 with a can.
