I did, and maybe should’ve gone that route since it almost makes the full size obsolete. But it’s only been in people’s hands a few months, so I’m still wary. The full size is a damn tank and the extra weight doesn’t bother me much.

I’ll probably pick up the 1x micro or 2x GLx later this year to replace the red dot on my Sport II.

Not an AR but 5.56 Galil built on ATI receiver. Runs great. Added bone steel folding brace and Tapco picatinny hand guard.

Nice, that looks like someone took an AK and an AR and came out with their love child.

That’s pretty much what happened. Israel used FN FAL’s for their initial weapon for their armed forces. It was not very popular because of its size and weight. The IDF captured many AK47’s during the 6 day war and grew to prefer it over the FAL.

Yisrael Galili Submitted a plan that copied many of the Valmet 62 features(it was essentially an AK). IDF wanted a 5.56 caliber to follow nato. The Galil has many of the same characteristics as the AK. It has been chambered in 5.56, 7.62 x39 and 7.62x51.

It’s an awesome gun. I like to think of it as the best of both AK and tge AR platforms.

AR10 in 308. My 12 year old daughter did the stencil and helped me with the paint job. Has a BSF carbon fiber barrel.

Since we are sharing some non-AR platforms, I submit my Mini-14. I know that it isn't as respected as the AR on here but I've had a lot of fun with it.

what kind of paint do you use on a gun like that? Do you need to use a primer first?

I've wanted to paint a few but scared I'll screw them up

If it messes up, just redo.

Tell her that she did an amazing job. That looks really really good.

How well does the Krylon hold up?

Not too bad. I haven’t had it out much. I have done a few other guns that been on longer. Tgey get that distressed look over time. Brake cleaner will get it off pretty easy. Just spray it down wipe real good and give it a new look.

Update on this: I took the 3x32 to the range over the weekend and zeroed it. Ended up having to go 12 MOA to the right. In doing so, the reticle is a little off center and the illumination is now a bit uneven (left side is brighter than right side).

All that to say, I'm sending it back and getting the 3x micro prism in its place, so stay tuned.

Found my AR wrench! It's been missing for 6 months, it had slipped into my couch.

Do you run any laser or secondary sight for close up shots? I know you hunt open fields, but I hunt food plots and tight woods.
