I would get a 30 cal if it as my first. That way you can shoot 5.56, 6.5 and 762. Now for brand and model. That’s like asking a guy what bourbon he likes to drink. I have 2 Silencerco Omegas but I haven’t bought anything since the new trust changes took effect. I will let others chime in on newer stuff.

This more than likely won’t be your last one. I bought a Sparrow 22 and AAC 762 in 2010 and thought that was all I needed lol. 9 cans later I have all I need.

I was lucky. I had an email notification setup at Primary Arms for 2 months. Sitting on the shitter at 4:15 am and in comes an email saying in stock. Glad it was Taco Tuesday for dinner that night for once.

I was taking a shower and missed my alert for a LAW tactical folder, sold out within 10 minutes. I was able to buy a Geissle SD upper after an alert.

As a new AR owner I have enjoyed reading this thread. I have no idea what half of the shite talked about means...but I enjoy it.

With that said, I will have some dumbass questions. Here is my first:

Do I have to register my AR in LA? Thanks.

You live in a free state brother so no. You don't register any firearms unless they are NFA items.

NFA ITems:
Short Barrel Rifles
Short Barrel shotguns'
Suppressors
Destructive devices
Machine Guns

Close call. This is going to be very destructive to my pocketbook.

Have you started shooting yet? It only gets worse after you start having fun.

You don't register those with the state here either, anymore. If you're good with the feds, you're good with the state of Louisiana.

Anyone have any experience with the Sig Sauer Romeo 5? Looking into red dots for my AR and looking for opinions. Any help appreciated.

Well, the OB has failed me yet again. I’ve been sitting on the AR sidelines for a long time and decided that now was the time. I bought this Armalite today. I was hoping that someone here would suggest putting the money in a 401K or invest in gold or something.

The OB posters, who obviously don’t know the meaning of retirement planning, already picked out a sling for me and I have some great leads on optics and backup sights to research.

I might as well buy a soft case for it. Any suggestion?

Thanks Outdoor Board for all the help!!!
