I appreciate the heads up, NOLAGT. I'm kind of keen on factory new on this rifle, though.

It does suck that I literally have a complete lower, I'm a week into the Form 1 process, so I expect that to be completed in the next 2 to 3 weeks, and I have a suppressor that's in NFA jail, but accessible.

The freely available, ship to my front door, no paperwork required 8" .300BLK upper, though, is going to delay me weeks to months. I'm not at the point where I'm ready to give up on factory new, so I'm still in the "grumbling on the internet about wait times" stage.

If your buddy has an 8" upper and I get to the "buy a used upper and quit grumbling on the internet" stage, I'll keep you in mind.

Has anyone heard a peep from any of the manufacturers when they expect to have product back? Most of them have been out of stock for weeks now, but there's no way they've stopped prodcution, so where's all that production going?

People are panic buying and will only get worse as the election gets closer. If Trump loses it’s going to be worse than the Obama first term as far as stock goes. You have multiples of social unrest and pandemic fears. I am trying to find 5K rds of 9mm and 556 just to put up. I shoot a lot on weekends in the fall and winter and want to be able to continue.

PSA has 1000 round loosepacks of Federal American Eagle 5.56 right now for $0.50 a round if that's in your price range.

What really sucks is that I got caught in the middle of this build in a new caliber. So, I don't have an upper and I don't have ammo laid in. I've got plenty of 9mm and 5.56, but finding .300BLK when the build is done is the next hurdle. I'm keeping my eyes open for non-outlandish prices on the stuff to start laying in some supply of that ammo and hoping to catch decent prices to go ahead and place a bulk order of it at some point.

Thoughts on .224 Valk ammo?

Thinking about getting a Savage MSR 15 LRP but the ammo cost is a turn off.

Would be my first AR

I wouldn’t make a 224 my first AR. I’d go 223 300blk or maybe a 6.5 Grendel before a 224.

Go 5.56 for your first build especially right now.

I should have said 5.56 not .223. It shoots both but find one that is rated for 5.56. And then track down ammo lol

I’m not building it :( I’m wanting to get a complete gun then circle back next year and build one.

The other one I’m looking at is the Springfield Saint Victor 5.56.

Built one for my 12yr old son as a deer rifle and pretty good round for whitetail.

My order has shipped! I’m shocked considering all the negatives I’ve heard with psa being slow.

If anyone looking for 300 BO subsonic Wilson combat has in stock. Isn't cheap but it's in stock. Its the Hornady 208Gr ELD ammo. Not bad stuff. They have the Sierra 220 Gr in stock as well.

I want some Barnes 110gr 300blk but its out everywhere

I saw my in stock notification come in from target sports...went to the site and saw it in stock and thought ill grab that in a little bit. I was at work and when I had a brake about 10 min later it was all gone. I'll not mess around next time.

What are some good LPVO scopes for a 16" 223 AR?

I like Leupolds because they are usually lighter than the rest. Is the VX-Freedom AR worth it?

I looked at the VX3 and VX5 LPVOs...I like the VX5 since I could get the CDS-ZL dial for some range adjustments but the Freedom AR has a sort of drop reticle. Mark 6 would be nice but they are a little out of the range im looking to spend.

Did Vortex change there strike eagle lineup? I have a 1-6 from a few years ago that I dont love. Seems heavy but they have "new" next to them on there website. (looks like they did)

yea when I looked at there site the strike eagles looked different and they are. Updated for 2020 I think. I didn't love my older 1-6 that I still have but maybe the new ones are worth a look. The PST II starts getting heavy at 22+ oz imo.

I am looking for one for a DDM4V7 LW and my MCX. The MCX will have a 16" 556 barrel or a 9" 300blk. Wouldn't mind one on a AK too possibly.

It’s tough to make an economical 6x scope that performs well at both low and high powers.

Anyone have this? ETA: sig tread w/ Sig tango 4 1-4x25

I got this for my wife last week. She can’t chamber a round with one hand because the scope sits over the charging handle. Obviously I don’t mind because I like it and she essentially just use another gun

Is there a way to move the scope up some? It’s sitting at front of the pickatinny, not like the pic I provided.
