I’ve been about ready to buy the same thing. Can’t decide on a handgun silencer. What are you thinking?

I just ordered a 10.5in 300 blackout upper for my pistol lower. Hope to go do all my paperwork and stuff for my suppressor next week.

That light is my IR light for my ATN 4k pro. We were on privet land so we went from deer hunting to pigs at night. No luck with either

If primarily handgun and 9mm, Rugged hinted at an all titanium Obsidian 9. If they get it to market that will be at the top of my list for 9mm handguns

New to the AR game, but finally decided to get one and need some help. We've run out off youth guns and don't need another 7-08, 243, 30-30.

Looking at buying a 556 and converting it to a 277 wolverine. Seems simple and not a fan of the 300 BLK so far. We shoot 270s and already set up to reload so it seems a no brainer for us. MD has barrels and the loads look easy to work up.

thoughts? recs?

That looks pretty sweet and decent price too.

I think I’m mainly gonna be looking for ones on Silencer Shop tho I think. Already used them before and it was just so damn easy.

No reason to buy one in .223, converting, and have a barrel laying around.
Just build it from the start and build how you want it. The only hard part (and it isn't hard at all) is torquing the barrel which you'd be doing anyway.

So, looks like the Wolverine is trimming the .223 case some and then forming.

If you're reloading and want to go that route, then go ahead.
But, consider the 6.5 Grendel or the 6.8 SPC.
Ammo/brass is easy to find (saving you a couple of steps)

6.8 spc and 6.5 Grendel both have better ballistics.

The .277 is pushing a 110gr bullet at 2500 fps at the muzzle (from what I can find)

the 6.5 grendel is pushing a 123gr bullet at 2600 fps, a 108gr at 2700

The 6.8 is pushing a 115gr bullet at 2700 fps.

energy greatly favors the 6.5 grendel, then the 6.8

Also, how much would the dies for the .277 be? 6.5 grendel and 6.8spc dies can either be cheap or expensive. Whatever you want to do. There are a lot of options there.
Just my thoughts.

Is the military legitimately considering a caliber change to 6.8 and .338. I keep seeing companies like Sig showing off their new rifle and machine gun designs, but didn't know if it was just the usual once a decade routine

from what I have read, they are but it will not be the 6.8 SPC.

Will be a new round in 6.8 caliber.

This showed up as an ad, motion to name as the official optic of the AR-15 thread?

Thanks for the advice. I forgot to add was wanting to keep the same upper and be able to swap back to 223 for goofing off if needed.

Would love the 6.8 spc but my thought was it would be cheaper getting the 223 upper, mags, and brass. By my numbers could do it for close to 800, could I go 6.8 spc for that?

I kinda thought the 270 Fury was the attempt at getting the military on board. It's an awesome concept but the cartridge seems over bore and probably not practical for mass production.

Easily

Bison armory upper
I have their barrel in my 6.8. It's easily submoa.

you could run any magazine you want. Only real issue will be with the last round.

PSA 6.5 grendel upper $369

That one at PSA is crazy cheap. It's on sale. Normal is $420.
