The wait time for e-files are real short right now, what was stopping/slowing me was the paperwork to go over state lines and the fact braces were good enough. I think its about time to sbr a bunch of boat anchors before the line gets long...

Who did you guys use to set up your trusts (assuming most of you went this direction vs individual)?

Mark Garber here in Lafayette did mine about 10 years ago. Now hes the Sherriff so I doubt he fools with it anymore but I know there is an attorney here in town that has his class 3 so he's become a one stop shop for some of my friends.

Form 1’s were taking as little as 2 weeks.

You serious?!?! I haven't looked in a long time. I have two I've been wanting to do. I guess it's time to do that. Can you still file online for those, or with the new trust rules do you have to send in the paperwork?

Yes you can e file online with a trust and they have been taking 2-4 weeks it seems. But if they screw up braces I expect a influx of efiles.

I'm waiting for this to happen just to see the Trump humpers say "braces were stupid anyways, we didn't need them"

I was always afraid we pushed the envelope too much on the braces. This is of no surprise to me

evidently the dayton shooter used an AR pistol with a 100 round drum, and shot 26 people in 32 seconds.

the shoulder brace vs SBR thing is an easy target...

Aren’t those just uploaded with the form 1?

Asking because I just filed two weeks and definitely only mailed fingerprints and cover sheet.

So question for the masses that have both bought for built ARs and/or have built your own... what route do you prefer? And any pros and cons to support your opinion?

When you build you can get exactly what you want for a good price. When you buy, you are buying a rifle put together by someone who does it for a living with a guarantee on the weapon. If you are confident and capable, you can build a nice rifle for less than what you buy for the same or better quality. Always a chance you may screw something small up though if you haven't done it before. Also, some companies may build what you already desire and it is just easier to buy.

I had a eotec long ago but I returned it with that class action suet that came about. It wasn't bad but I like the new circle dot that Holoson has and you can change it around. They also have a new gold color that is pretty bad arse just looking through it in my garage.

It looks like your lower receiver end plate is on backwards.
