Nutnfancy suggests that red dots are better for the youngsters and 3x-9x are more suitable, and for general AR use, too, for those of us with more "experienced" eyes.

YMMV

Correct me if I'm wrong, this takes the place of the standard buffer tube and spring, correct?

Picked up a carbine gas tube today........thinking it would work carbine length barrel.

Got the tube pinned to the gas block, slid it over the barrel.........tubes too short. Rookie mistake.

Your barrel description should have said what gas tube length is required.

It said it was a carbine barrel so I assumed a carbine length gas tube.

Just went back and checked and the description called for a carbine length gas tube.

It's gonna be a bitch to get that roll pin out for the new tube.

I'm confused you got a carbine length gas tube it was too short, verified the description calls for a carbine length gas tube and now need get a new tube? Something doesn't add up.

Anyway..a 5/64 punch and 8oz ball peen hammer will have that pin out in two strokes.

I ordered a ballistic advantage16" 5.56 pencil profile barrel. I ordered it with the gas block but t didn't come with a tube. I picked up a carbine length tube at the local gun shop, got home pinned it in place and slipped it over the barrel and the tube is about an inch from going into the hole on the upper receiver.

I think they may have shipped me the pencil profile 16" mid length barrel by accident.

Idk......this is my first build so I'll chalk it up as rookie mistake.

Carbine gas tube is just under 10" long. If the gas tube is correct then the barrel description is wrong.

He does a good job and how much does this cost? Need to get mine done. He is much closer to me than the other guy I was going to bring it to.
