Anyone know who the best gunsmith in the area is for assembling an AR from the ground up? Doing a complete build

Different question but related, how hard would it be to build my AR from the ground up?

See the last post on precious page. I just finished my first build.........it's not hard at all.
I am going to have a local gunsmith tighten up the barrel and castle nut because I don't have a vice. I am also going to have them give the rifle a look to make sure They see no problems with my assembly.

It's really not that hard and there are plenty of youtube videos out there to guide you along the way. It will require a few tools though such as:
Armorers Wrench
Vise
Vise Blocks for both Upper and Lower Receiver
Roll Pin Punches
Torque Wrench

Conrad Sulzer at Sulzer Firearms. He's one of the only guys I'd want doing a build for me if I couldn't do it for whatever reason. I'm in Vegas for the next few days, but Beau over at Bowie Outfitters (my coworker) does excellent work as well.

If you're remotely handy, it isn't all that hard, particularly finishing a stripped lower (if I can do it, after all, it is within reach of the vast, vast majority of folks). I would say the lower is a basic-to-intermediate assembly job (a few tricky tasks, here and there, with a whole market of tools to make most of them easier) and the upper, with the gas block and barrel torque is probably more solidly in the intermediate assembly range.
And the better news is that there is a digital mountain of resources on the intartubes to help you with each subtask.

I haven't used Conrad as a smith yet, but as an FFL, he's great.

He's not just a smith, he's an assembler. He knows them inside out and underneath.

Yeah I used him as the FFL to transfer my lower. Didn't know he did assemblies too

2 of those do not belong
Are any of the two better if I want to possibly add a magnifier later

This is my daughters (14) AR we built together. She assembled all of it except for the comp and barrel nut. The only casualty along the way was two lost detent pins and one spring...so you should have no problem putting one together.

Okay...well I have the vision of a 60 year old and refuse to wear glasses
I think I'd like the potential of a little magnification, despite the normal shorter range shooting. any other recs?

A 1x4 optic would suit you well
Look at Weaver, Leupold, or Vortex options

Nice!
Which all upper/lowers is that?

I'm actually going to pick up my concealed carry from him soon. Haven't ordered from him since he got his new digs

I put a Leupold VX-Hog 1-4x20 on mine.
Have it mounted on a Burris AR-PEPR.
It's not terribly expensive but has been rock solid for me.

Leupold VXR Patrol 1.25*4. It has the firedot recticle. Glass is great for a $500 optic and tough as nails. I have 2 of them I like them so much. Its $499 at B&H. You have to add to cart to get the $499 price.
