Need help building my first AR. I read to pg 150 and just plain pooped out.
In buying my upper with BCG are there any downside/upside in going with the RRA? I ask b/c it comes with the BCG and charging handle assembly and Bravo Co does not.
Also, most RRA upper's have SS barrel's....any drawback to these? My lower is a RRA and the purpose of the gun is strictly recreational hog plunking, I'm not entering any competition's any time soon.
Shed some light pls?

BCM uppers have an option to add the bcg and ch, so you can in fact get the total package from them as well. It will be a bit more expensive than the RRA, but you are getting what is considered a higher quality upper (not that there is anything wrong with RRA, they make a good product). As far as the SS barrel, you get more life out of the rifling in the chrome lined or nitrided barrels.

what SG said.
nothing wrong with RRA. my first upper was was a RRA (still have it, just never shoot it)
it doesn't shoot nearly as nice as my BCM mid length though. also i haven't handled a RRA in a while but mine is heavy in comparison to others on the market.
mid length gas system will be much smoother and give you less felt recoil.

What the best video for assembling your AR??
I have my completed upper, I just finished completing my lower, so now I have the completed lower, completed upper, bcg, and charging handle. Any video recommendations to put it all together?

You did the hard part.
Flip the upper over.
Put charging handle in, push it about halfway in.
Put BCG in in,
Push BCG and charging handle all the way, handle should click in.
Put the two halves together and push the pins.

Well, a year later and she's finally done - minus optics. I'm pleased with the outcome, although Magpul MOE furniture got really popular since I bought it in Dec '12.

Del-Ton Lower
CMMG LPK
CMMG BCG
Bravo Company Charging Handle

Where is Carson? Haven't really seen him around here much since the panic started to subside and then he was banned for awhile.

Depends, do you want cheap or good?
I usually look at:
Rainier Arms
Bravo Company
PK Firearms
I would browse the classifieds at ar15.com, most people hardly use these items. A few hundred or even 1000 rounds is nothing for an AR. I just picked up an AAC 300 blackout barrel for $150 less than new and its had less than 100 rounds on it.
