It's "Request Dust Off."

i've done countless and i mean countless training measures drawing from holster, waist band, you name it with many 1911's and have never had a failure to fire due to a grip safety issue.
I'm sure you're right. I couldn't refute that it hasn't happened to you but it's one more potential issue to deal with that is unnecessary.

Don't forget, Spank, he does it free for folks who take my class.
Also, he does it for free for folks to who take dawg23's class.

Who, by the way, is an outstanding instructor.

What brand of ISWB holster do you have? I've got a Glock 36 with a Blackhawk ISWB holster and it's not comfortable at all. Looking for a good alternative.
There is a company based out of Central, LA (the city not the region) that makes holsters. His company is www.rmholsters.com I have one of his "Low Riders" and it's easily the most comfortable kydex iwb holster I've ever used.
Texas and Louisiana have reciprocity so if you are a TX resident and have a TX CHL you can carry in LA and vice versa.

The new law that was quoted basically invalidates non-resident permits, for instance if you are a Louisiana resident (or another state) and your only permit is a Non-Resident Florida permit. LA only recognizes your permit if it is issued by your state of residence.
if you don't mind driving, richie's pawn & gun in MS has smokin deals on liberty 24 gun safes from time to time. give them a call and tell kasey that i sent you.

Scott Wilfong used to do the notarizations for free but now he does them for an "any amount" donation to the NRA Political Victory Fund.

Why would you buy a gun with a round that would be hard to find and probably, I would expect, fairly expensive.

One of the main reason to buy these guns is the availablity of the rounds and they're cheap to shoot.
Shouldn't be hard to find now that Rem is producing and distributing it.
I mounted mine to my hat bill with the goggle mount and some spacers to angle it up a bit.

I have a couple. Nothing special...

GoPro strapped to your head. Camera is looking down your barrel for every shot.
except your head isn't perfectly in-line with the bore on a long gun.

contour works great. you can get many different mounts (not just a picatinny). IMO the contour makes more sense then gopro for a gun mount because of its size and mounting options.

What exactly does a thumb safety really accomplish anyway?
On a striker fired weapon system, I agree.
You can ask the owner, Alan, any questions here;

You guys should go to some of the 600yd matches at Palo Alto with these tack drivers.

The only way to answer this is for YOU to shoot both and decide.

re: Louisiana Fishing license

My mom bought my son a lifetime hunt/fish license when he was 2 or so, IIRC it was $200.

I got screwed on the June thing too. Went fishing Saturday and again next week and, of course, I had to pay full price even though it expires in a month.

I can almost see doing what LA does now but they need to be fair and pro-rate them (even if only in 3 month increments).
