Blame the LWF commission. The experts can tell them til they are blue in the face what is best for the resource and what people prefer but it doesn’t mean anything The commission makes the decisions

Yeah, you’re right. It is the commission. They open speck season, when there is no rice cut and no geese here, but close it for the opening of the 2nd split.

No the biggest idiot thing they ever did was have Corkey Perrett as the state rep on the Marine Commission. That mfer was a shill for the commercial fishing industry

Can't tell if sarcasm or not, but he's not wrong. As much as people like to hate on Larry Reynolds, he only makes the recommendations. The commission sets the seasons, and they can ignore him and do what they want within the established federal framework.
I'm not sure how the speck season was set or if this is what happened, but they've gone against the biologists before and based seasons on public opinion.

Could have shot 6 specks and another half dozen snows today in the fog. Damn I hate the way they set this season up. We could have hi-fived those geese they were so close

it's all setup with a bunch of 'zones' and 'splits' so they can write more tickets. can't get on lawdog tv unless you r writing tickets!!!!
