Weird. I don't remember the weather being bad Saturday

Is the water already cold enough to cause this? This is sort of relevant to me because I'm considering taking my nephews kayking on a lake this week. Shore will never be more than a 100 yards away. Is below 60 considered dangerous?

According to the linked story the father was 87 and the son was 62. Could very well have been something simple like the father fell into the water on accident, the son went in to get him, and was unable to get him back to the boat.

Depending on how fit the 62 yo was, it could very well have been a rescue attempt kinda deal or both went in and neither could catch back up to the boat. Never know.

That’s the worst part in these situations. The family will never know what or how it happened most likely. Unless he made a call or shot off a text, or got on the radio. It’s bad any way you look at it.

Saw this on the Nola news yesterday morning and have been waiting for an update to see what happened.
