First post after being a long time outdoor board reader (10 years). I figured I’d start my journey with a tire thread. I have a f150 4x4 with KO2’s that are around 7 years old. They rode great for an all terrain and lasted 90k miles. I tow a boat pretty often and occasionally need some grip to get me out of sticky situations. Any one have experience with the KO3’s?

I did not get the KO3s for my current truck last year because they were new. No other reason than for Goodyear to work out the kinks in their perfect AT tire they had with the KO2s for so many years. Gun to my head today, I would get the KO3s all day long.

Guy at the tire shop (discount tire) and another at my dealership both said to stay away from the KO3s.
They both said they have seen multiple KO3 come back because they get out of round when a wire slipped and or broke. I was looking at tires at the time for my son's truck. They both said Ridge grapplers are the one's they have had the least issues with and that's what I bought.
I have KO2s on my truck and love them

I had Ridge Grapplers and then AT3s on my 2019 F150, liked them both and couldn't really tell a difference between the two.
That being said, I just got a new F150 and won't be leveling or putting on all-terrains on my new truck

They were the best tire ever made. I’m trying to see if I can find some left overs for my size since they stopped production.

Damn sure are! I went with Goodyears and typed that as I was thinking BFGs.

Kenda Klever RT are great tires. Two friends with tire shops sell the heck out of them. I have 60k on a set on my old lifted yukon denali.
Other than that Toyo or Nitto AT seem to be the kings.

They were the factory tire on my truck. Wet performance isn't great, other than that they weren't bad at all on pavement for an all terrain. I only had them for about 1,000 miles & sold them for more of a general use offroad tire, but word is they do get louder after 15k or so miles. I don't know if that's true or not, I just wanted more wet traction in Florida on a daily driver.

I just put a set of 285/75-r18 Yokohama geo lander xd hd tires on my truck. A little noisy but very aggressive commercial rated all terrain for allot cheaper than comparable bfg or Goodyear offerings. Only 5k miles so time will tell on longevity but so far so good

Yep...lots of reports of not being able to balance the KO3s.
If you got that much out of the KO2s, I'd go back with that in a heartbeat. I'm probably gonna switch to KO2 when this set of Goodyears runs out.
I had KO2 on an old F150 that had 80k miles. Best A/T I've ever owned. I've heard good things about Nitto's A/T G3 too.

I have Toyo Open Country RT. I like them a lot. Easily get me through wet, Mississippi red clay.

Running AT3s right now and love them but make sure you get the right load. Im running E load which works for me. I am up in Canada and do a fair bit of off roading in rocky terrain and I have a very short commute to work. If you don't do a lot of off-roading and you drive your truck a good ways to work, go with the C load. Much better ride.

They were discontinued unfortunately. I'd buy another set in a heartbeat if I could when I need them.
My truck has 71k miles on it and I put the KO2s on it when it had between 5-10k miles and they have a lot of life left.

Luckily, Wal mart’s online inventory had my size available so I’m having them shipped to me. It looks like the KO2’s will soon be non existent but they are still out there.

I had Recon Grapplers and one of them had an issue about 30,000 in. Just replaced them with Hercules Terra Trac Xventures and so far I'm really impressed. Truck has 170k so this will likely be the last set I buy for it and hoping I can get 30-40k out of them at least.

I have a 2017 F150 FX4, leveled.
put 75,000 miles on some 285/65/20 KO2s, then got some 295/60/20 Toyo AT3s, put 80,000 miles on those. both were E load rated.

I heard a similar story. Tire guy said he's had to warranty a BUNCH of KO3s due to "egging" and out of round conditions. Recommend I stay away from them for my C2500. I went with Nitto Ridge Grapplers and I've already put 4000 miles on them and I'm about to head to the shop to get them rotated. No complaints about them
