Just a couple holes to mount the new unit. There is already a unit in place.

Hell while I'm buying I also bought some new lights to put on the T-top, what kind of beer you drink?

I mean there's technically no reason it cant be used

Actually, I think Romex is NM-B rated wire but in that compartment it should probably be oil and gas resistant If there is a fuel tank or lines running through there) so should be MTW or THHN or THWN-2. Not that I'd really be worried too much, just bad practice and potential for cracking insulation down the road.

Still funny to think about.

True. I'm curious what that would even run to. Obviously not factory, but there are 6 pairs

Would probably abandon them all, and leave one as a pull string for future additions

Not really in your area specified, but I had Magnum Outboards in Harvey completely rewire my boat. They did a great job and were very reasonably priced.

Spoken like a true engineer (noticed that in another post).
Got a Mechanical degree myself but have pretty much done Control Systems my whole career with a little Mechanical/Process/Electrical along the way. It's amazing how many things any engineering degree can expose you to.

Have fun wiring, boats are usually not bad, especially if you have some Romex pull cables

Me too, its like someone created a job for me. Been doing it since 1990. A lot of PLC programming, HMI configuration, plus panel/system design over the years.

I understand that I am responding to a very old post but I have a need for a boat re-wire. I am looking for a professional quality job and I am wondering if there is still any interest in tackling such an endeavor. Not looking for free labor but hoping to not get hosed. 22 foot center console bay boat in the Baton Rouge area. TIA.

you know better than this. It's a marine grade double insulated wire for running through bilges or where it might be wet often.
