Where/who can help? Would prefer not to pay some company, but will certainly buy someone some beers

Never shot tikka and new scope

You can lock it down and pull bolt out. Look down bore and get close

Come up to the camp and we can do it. I've got to sight in my 300 as well

Dang this is right up my alley but I'm sort of tied up. I could maybe meet you out at Sherburne tomorrow afternoon

Congrats on your new scope/rifle, TulaneUVA! Tell us about your gun. Wish I was close enough to help you shoot your gun in, but I'm too far away. This video will show you how to bore sight your gun. I usually do this at home before going to the range. That way the gun will usually at least be on paper at 25 yards, saving me some time at the range.

Good luck and keep us updated.

Bring it to Precision and finish with that. Go hunting instead.

Except make damn sure you have a good 100 yard zero. a 25 yard zero will only give you so much information.

Coogle/Youtube 26 yard sight in!!! This is your friend and really works. Just sighted in grandson's 270, took 4 shots, would have been three if I hadn't turned elevation turrett wrong way. Invest in LASERLYTE, .22 TO .50 CALIBER BORE SIGHTER..... Keep this with your gun and you can check sight in before you go afield...
Good luck.....

A laser birevsight will tell you absolutely nothing at 100 yards other than you should be with 8".

I'm trying to sight in a few rifles tomorrow. Waiting on a response from my buddy to make sure I can access the property tomorrow morning. If I get the green light, I have no problem bringing yours along. I'll let you know once I get the word, and we can figure out details if you'd like.

That's a cool tool to have to be sure his gun's on paper at 100 yds, but in my opinion he'd be spending $30 on a tool that's not necessary. Bore sight the gun (as described in the video I linked or at a gun shop w/ their bore sighter device) and then shoot a few times at a range (at least 100 yards). The bore sighting devices do NOT remove the need to actually shoot the gun. Used the $30 you save to buy a couple extra boxes of ammo.

Lately I’ve been boresightinf and taking the first shot at 100 yards at a 4’x4’ sheet of drafting paper. Have yet to miss it, but have come close

It has saved shots and time though. 2nd shot has always been somewhere in the vicinity of where I wanted it. Got one from new scope to dead on with 7 shots this year.

Normally takes me 3-4.

Put crosshairs on target - 1st shot
put crosshairs back on target. Adjust scope to 1st impact.
put crosshairs on target 2nd shot
put crosshairs on target confirm 2nd shot with 3rd shot
