So, if you had a choice of any truck to drive, what would it be?
In your position, with my tastes, it would be an F350 single wheel 7.3 gas burner 4 door long bed.
If you don't give a shite about his budget, than a F350 single wheel diesel 4x4 king ranch

If the 5.0 Ford was good to you, Id just pick new 5.0 and whatever higher trim level boss allows.

Who down votes that truck.
I imagine it is getting downvotes on tires and wheels alone.

I’d be at the Toyota dealership picking up a Tundra Capstone.
I love my Silverado 2500hd, but if I could go pick up whatever I want on someone else’s dime, it would be that capstone. I don’t think I could buy one for myself though because that white leather would be looking rough after the first hunting season in it lol

Personally I’d get a Raptor

If you are going diesel, Cummings is your best bet.

I have the F150 Powerboost hybrid and love it. Great fuel mileage, great torque, great towing, and 0-60 in 5.3 seconds.

They did say whatever I want, but at the same time, I don’t think I could swing a Raptor. And that capstone is beautiful but I can’t do white interior. Especially going in and out of plants all day with the amount of dust and mud on rainy days. Trying to be somewhat practical. I love my 5.0 but I know they have oil leaking issues now and the new trannies suck from everything I’ve read. I know the check has engines have had major tranny issues also. For whatever reason, I don’t really think about or consider Dodge much. The interior looks really nice in the dodge but there is almost too much going on and too many electronics to fail for me. I could be totally wrong on that though. Guess I need to go test drive some vehicles. The f-250s I’ve seen online right now are ugly as shite. I know they have been very limited on stock lately while the f-150s are overflowing lots.

Doesn’t sound like you work a truck so, I would suggest you take a look at the Silverado 1500 with the 3.0 Duramax.

I have a 2021 Silverado 2500 gas burner. These are the best driving/riding 3/4 in the class with independent front suspension. My gas motor has plenty of power. It’s the best truck I’ve owned.

Gun to my head had to get something now it'd be a RAM. The neighbors new 2500 diesel with the upgraded suspension rides awesome.
Tundra would be next but I'm wanting them to get the bugs out of the turbo.
I have a 2013 f250 gasser and. Y only real complaint is its too damn tall. I'm 6'4" and I use my truck bed and if I could I'd lower the whole truck 3 inches.
If you're un and out of one all day maybe check on height if it's an issue. The 2017 f250s I didn't buy because of the height. Enough people complained Ford dropped them a little in subsequent models

I know people will downvote, but I have a 2018 Nissan Titan and I love it.
I also do.
Has every bell and whistle of a new truck. Didn't like the tiny factory headscreen. Put in an integrated phoenix unit. I see zero reason to buy anything else for a very long time.
Hwy mileage is great.
City mileage is... Not

Aren’t they going to stop production of the Titan to focus on Electric vehicles?
Killing the line in 24. Which is insane. Because they finally have the v8 and trans refined. The driveline is bomb proof.
But when you never advertise, and wait 10 years to do a revamp... It happens.

No. The silverado is not a good truck. And going with a crappy diesel engine instead of the 6.2l gas would be a big mistake.

Currently dropping my truck off at transmission shop at 125k miles. 2019 Sierra 5.3 w/ 8 speed. Don’t recommend.

F-150 10 speed trannys suck. Got rid of my 2019 at 29K for that reason. So disappointing. I’ve had many F-150’s.
Posted on 8/30/23 at 7:55 am to Popths
Ford makes the Sierra now?
Anyway have a 2021 F150 ecoboost with about 19k on it. No issues as of yet.

Half ton - I'd pick Tremor, Rebel, Trailboss, AT4, drive them all and pick one. These days you never know what you are gonna get anyway in terms of trouble.
I've owned a Rebel and a Trailboss, I would buy the Rebel again over the Trailboss. The 5.7 Hemi with the 3.92 rear end and 8 speed is a hoss. The rear end on the Trailboss acted like it owed somebody money when going over bumps, real jittery, nervous, and bouncing around. Didn't have either one for long enough to know the long term reliability.
I would suggest checking with the service departments before you buy. The local Ram's dealers for me SUCK arse in the service department, but the one Chevy dealer I used was impeccable.
