The domino is a game changer. Check it out. I would have hand planed it after but it wasnt necessary. It's a total of seven boards glued together so rather than having to glue all those at once I broke them down into two's. Glued two each at a time then ran them through the planer and then glued up the four boards. It's came out so flat that didn't need to hand plane it, I did a little with the belt sander and then a card scraper.

Looks very cool and was ready to pick one up but then saw the price at nearly $1k!

We try to go camping 3-4 times a year minimum. Working on it on weekends and spare time took me about 15 months, but if I wanted to it would probably take six months. I estimate I have about $6000 sunk into it, but I wanted the oak caninets and it's wired for both 12V DC and 30amp 110V AC. Building it 5ft wide instead of 4 ft also increased the cost. You can make them as simple or as fancy as you like. I also as you can see use it to promote my sideline business, so I was able to write off some of the cost on my taxes.

I had posted some pics of this several pages back but got busy and hadn't had much time to work on it.
Roof rack/kayak rack build for a camper shell.
I had spray painted it and used it a couple times to make sure everything was like I needed before powdercoating it.
Old pics from when I was building it.
Most recent updates. Removed some plates that I wasn't going to use anymore, added loops to hook straps into the center of the rack instead of having to run side to side and then sent it off to be powdercoated.
While waiting for it to come back from being coated I finished up/mounted the battery, battery tray and switch panel, wiring it all will be the last step.
Back from powdercoating.
Mounted a fire extinguisher....I'm accident prone.
More to come in the coming weeks.

For every you need to get started, it's about 1300, but it has paid for itself in the time that I save. I don't do this professionaly, but I do sell a lot of stuff. If youre just making stuff for yourself it's probably not worth it but if you sell alot, it's totally worth it.

I'm going to butt in and guess maybe a stencil.

I bet you can find one at Hobby Lobby or Michael's. Or Amazon.

This is something I been working on now going on over two years. In the past, I posted a couple things, but photobucket with all their ads, I just can't do that anymore.
It is kind of a long read along with some good people.
LINK
It has been something to help me along with my health and has been good for that when I can work on it.
Oh, this is what a small sawmill can do for you.
95% of the lumber came off my mill and my land.

One is never to old to learn what we already forgot.

I drew one star and then cut it out on a plastic sheet stencil. Then I traced that star 5 times in a row and cut them out with a razor blade. Then placed the stencil on the boards and used a stiff brush to stipple paint them, one row at a time, with a row of five followed by a row of four, with the intention that they would not be complete, just splotchy white on top of the blue field. I'm sure the stencil is long gone. Both of my sons wanted one and some day I may do it again. Was a nice two day project.
Actually made that flag out of fence wood strips cut the width of the stripes on my table saw over 8 years ago. Had it nailed to the side of my pole barn and then we moved to a smaller house when I retired and it now hangs on the wall of my garage.

fishfighter - hang in there -
I built (kit built) a Heathkit electronic depth finder in about 1969. A circular scale displaying 0 - 60' with a spinning neon flashing light depth finder (using regular transom mounted transducer). Circuit board, soldering iron, transistors, resistors, capacitors, et. al. Yeah, I did it as someone in my young 20's. One of original type publically available circular type depth finders.
Worked like a charm in about 1969 - showed 18 foot depth (as an example) within 1-2' constant light around 18' with constant neon flash on spinning (probably 60 cps) bulb. Showed some (not much) reflections from whatever else was between the surface and the bottom.
Installed it on my Kingfisher bass boat about 1969 - worked like a charm. These days, no big deal. Then, that was the neatest thing I had ever built.

Hadn't done a whole lot lately but the Uncle wanted something simple to use as a tv stand.
And just finished these shutters to use in my dining room. Going to mount with some nice strap hinges and maybe put some decorative handles. A real simple project, but I Really like how it turned out.

Guess i waited too long to mount the shutters, because now one of them has warped on me.
I have it clamped down to a flat table to see if i can get it back to flush. But does anyone have any tricks to unwarp wood.
