It's the beard. Women love it and men envy it.

She's coming along.

Have you hunted her yet? Or how long before you do?

No, I've only had her 3 1/2 days. She'll probably be ready to hunt in another 2-4 weeks, depending on how fast things progress.

Even the Tiger Painting is so Cray. It's pretty clear with the Tiger and yellow Study room that she's a Tiger at heart.

It has a certain Les-onian feel to it, doesn't it?

Whoever asked, she has tape around her tail. Coops have delicate feathers. I have her tail temporarily taped to cut down on the risk of broken feathers during these early stages where she's still very scared.

How again did a wild hawk allow you to tape its backside without ripping you a new one?

Teague, do you have a youtube page or link to the video you posted a while back. Would like to re-watch.

ETA - Can she catch Gophers? If so, how much?

That's one instance where the "hat" comes in handy.

I posted several. This is the really long one of my red tail: Hawkeye Not sure if that will work because youtube is blocked here.

This one can't. Cooper's hawks are more of bird catchers. She MIGHT be able to catch a few rabbits and ducks, but it's tough for them. The red tail could.

Day? That's about half a season in that video. If you want to kill the most game you can, guns are the way to go. He killed 32 rabbits and 11 squirrels last year. That's not considered a GREAT year for a red tail, but it's respectable, especially considering he was a first year bird, and I'm still learning myself.
