Can you please go shoot that rifle at a target and tell us how it was shooting?

Like I said, I’m sighting that Tikka in after lunch.

The 30-30 is also with me.

He is going sight it in today. I asked him the same thing. I want to know how far off it is. I'm secretly hoping it is dead center.

If you deer hunt a lot, a rifle needs to be checked throughout the season. Either on target or deer.
Good luck getting your first. Sounds like a good .308 you picked up.

My dad and I were walking out after hunting one morning when I was a kid and had a little buck run out in a clearing about 100 yards away.

I shouldered my 30-06 and shot, deer just stands there, another shot and another. My dad laughs and takes the gun, boom boom.

Freaking out of bullets and the deer slowly walks off

Found out later the scope was 2 feet off

I added a pic to the original post of the deer chilling. I had time for a photo shoot.

The first deer I shot at with my bow was a doe at about 45 yards. I had a PSE junior bow, and hitting anything at 30 yards was a miracle.

I looked like an old school archer in a war movie. I fired all 6 arrows at that dumb arse doe and didn't hit it once. My Dad laughed his arse off with 6 arrows in the food plot and the deer was still roaming around, he scared it off.

Don't feel too bad. I busted my eye shooting at my first deer. Didn't shoulder the rifle properly because I was bunched up in a tiny stand and I'm 6'2.

Watched my son shoot and reload a single-shot 20ga FOUR times at a turkey. This was a heavily hunted, public land gobbler with a 10 inch beard. Gobbler was only about 15 yards away. My 8 year-old must have not gotten down on the stock and was shooting over his head. Every shot - the turkey would jump up in the air, I'd start cutting and he would hit the ground gobbling. I guess he thought it was thundering (very foggy morning). Would take a bit of time between shots because we had to wait for the turkey to turn and block his vision with his fan in order to get the gun reloaded.
