MS Velvet Buck Weekend: Sept. 16-18

Sure most of you have seen this, but Mississippi is having a velvet buck season mid September for the first time (bow only). Works out perfectly for me as Ole Miss plays GA Tech that weekend in ATL and there's not a snowball's chance I'm going to that game.
I'm pretty excited about it because it will be cool to see bucks coming in bachelor groups, and it'll be my first velvet hunt, but god damn it's gonna be a sonofabitch climbing in and out of a pine tree in that heat. Talk about sweating mane. Might not even be worth going depending on the weather that weekend

Mid October is bad enough, I can’t imagine trying to hunt in Sept. Gonna be a big NO for me.

So can you only shoot a buck in velvet? Lot of bucks are probably already out of velvet or shedding it mid Sept.

Was probably going to go down to the camp anyways that weekend to get some work done before real season opens. Might just climb in a tree to see what's going on for the hell of it. But yeah, given the fact that I sweat my arse off in January in my climber.....not gonna be fun if I decide to

I live n hunt south ms. Only way ill be there is if there is a big cool front by chance. Its all i can do to dove hunt mornings in sept.
